Nice that Gizmo and Boots like each other and spend time together. Not always so.
I have one of those little circular saws, though not as nice as a Dewalt. Very handy.
Most of the time the cats get along well.
There are times however they fight like cats & dogs cats.
I have yet to see a bad purchase that you made other than a few you upgraded and sold the old ones.

We all need stuff cause it not only is fun to use they come in handy to prevent so many trips to the hardware stores or Amazon.

Nice rack and I’ve still got a few of that style. Each shelf can hold up to about 4-500 pounds if needed. Another option for your storage unit since you’ve got a soft cover and other big items to store during the winter is to get a couple 8-10 foot tall pallet rack shelving and put them across the storage unit so you can store lots of stuff above the Vega. Or I’ve seen drop down shelving that attaches to ceiling and entire platform drops down on ropes and pulleys.

Glad to hear spring has arrived do enjoy it and your summer and little bit of fall before the white stuff comes again.

Always love the cats pics too
I did make a purchase recently I'm not happy about, as I relied on the pictures for condition & handed over the money before looking the item over.
My fault, lesson learned.
Look at all the rust.

A headlight quit working on the Hummer.
Damn worthless POS aftermarket bulbs were the cause of this I think.
And no, they were on the vehicle when purchased.
I cut this out, and soldered in a new plug.
In the mean time I installed the spare halogen bulbs for the Solstice.
And cleaned up the area since I had to remove the air filter box for working room.
But... I will be upgrading the lighting very soon.

Last weekend I removed the factory stereo and installed a new one for 3 reasons.
1- This will play the music from my phone, as I have no CDs.
2- Wireless CarPlay capable for navigation, hands-free phone calls, etc.
3- Backup camera capable, will install the camara this weekend or next.

Gizmo and Boots are happy garage cats.
Nice stereo solution. I love CarPlay, and Apple Music. It's even better with a Bluetooth connection.
Depending on your use case for the shelves, Rustoleum Hammered Silver would blend those rusted shelves pretty well. I've used it on a vise pedestal and rusted rims.

Too bad about the “ new” storage rack.

The driveway looks full with your fleet.

Was the new stereo plug and play or did you have to do some plug modifications?
Yeah but I'm over it.
I pressure washed it good at the local car wash, & cut cardboard for shelf liners.

My wife said if I get another vehicle, something will have to go.:)

I bought the stereo from Crutchfield, and paid extra for their pre-made harness.
Money well spent, it was plug & play.

They don't know how good they have it, I try to be a good servant to them. :ROFLMAO:

Yes, I'm liking it so far.

See my reply to captain14 on what I did with the storage rack.
When I messaged the seller afterwards about the condition of it she said "Get spray paint & and eye exam. :ROFLMAO:
Live & learn.

For big rusted items paint is a good option but I love naked steel so vinegar or even wd40 can remove most of it but rinse and wipe off totally before using or painting. I like boiled linseed oil on my old vises and some tools. I hear evaporust is a good option too or simple green in an old crock pot for smaller stuff.

Yes your cats know you are trying your best to serve them so keep up the good work.

Even though you said plug and play that new unit you installed looks difficult for most of us humans. Nice work!!

I used boiled linseed oil on the parts of my vice that are supposed to be bare metal when I restored it.
Still holding up reasonably well.

It truly was an easy installation.
The only thing left is installing the backup camera, hope it will work as designed.

So you are the new solstice soft top provider for the USA? Nice work on the Mac too.
Ha ha, I hope not!
LEDs on the Hummer look super. It was cold yesterday, hope Donna kept plenty warm!
Thanks, wasn't sure if I'd like the look or not.

It was cold, but she had warm clothes on, so she said it wasn't too bad.

I still have to change out the winter tires. Looks like from all the flowers you are ahead of us here. Still managing to dip below freezing, but just. Nice bunch of vehicles at coffee. I like the Pontiac but that probably is just me. 😂. Have a great weekend.

We had another freeze, but the Iris buds survived.

The C & C drew a surprising (to me) amount of nice vehicles.
I like Pontiacs also, had 3 in my lifetime.

You have a good weekend as well.
Yes, I missed that one. That was a Holden Commodore here and the GTO was a Holden Monaro.
I googled them, both very much my type of cars.

Such a shame GM (and Ford) shut down Australian production of cars.

Do you have a local freight shipping company or do you fastenal? Just curious how much that is to ship if you don’t mind saying? Nice work on the shipping boxing and sizing the pallet and it’s good to have the correct tools!!

Some cool cars at that show and looks like a few guys showed up with some spendy newer models.

Hope you have a good Mother’s Day!!

I can ship from my work, don't know what freight line it would be going on.
I don't have a clue what the shipping cost would be.

Thank you for mentioning Fastenal... I'm investigating that option right now.
My friend in Florida is still deciding where he can pick up the box.
I told him Fastenal was a good option, and there is one in Jacksonville.
Once he saw the address he said he knew right where it was.

Yeah, there were some pretty expensive rides at that show.

My Mother's Day was great! :ROFLMAO:
I made sure to do everything that Donna wanted, LOL,

It’s probably been close to a decade since I used Fastenal a lot shipping pallets across the country. They used to deliver on east coast in a few days and for a great price cause they were sending empty trucks before and just trying to pay for labor and gas.

Then Fastenal bought new trucks and their mates doubled and tripled so I found local buyers for my extra stuff.

Hopefully they are competitive or reasonable cause I always loved their service.

Have a grand day!!

In action.

My grandson discovered a HUGE Dragonfly stuck behind the grill on the Hummer.
This thing had a wingspan of 6 to 8 inches!
I had to remove the grill to free it.
It was unharmed, and took off like a Bat out of Hell.

It had to have gotten in thru the vertical "holes" in the grill itself.

While the grill was off I noticed one of my newly converted headlights was sagging.
The provided 3D printed ball-stud clips couldn't take the heat.
I replaced the clips with the factory metal ones, and that will not be a problem again..

I'm disappointed with all the fixing I've had to do with this modification, but the lighting improvement is worth it.

I’m thinking maverick manufacturers should hire you as a consultant to make their products waaaay better. Nice work on the camera and headlight. And nice save of the dragonfly.

I’ll never not like seeing a bunch of old cars in great shape so thanks again for attending all theses shows and taking and posting the pics.

Have a grand day!!

We went to look at Bro's glider at the airport.
The wingspan is several feet wider than the hanger space, so the wings must come off for storage.

You own so many vehicles now it’s hard for me to keep up and yes I meant Hummer. Again really nice work with the repairs and upgrades.

Bro’s and Sil’s place looks amazing. I think im past the point of wanting to skydive or fly a glider but it sounds like fun. Have you flown it too or just helped get your brother in the air?

Sometimes I forget when it’s an actual Saturday but I still love mine so have a great weekend.

I own too many vehicles now. :ROFLMAO:

I don't want to fly in a glider, and no I haven't helped with it.
He belongs to a club, and gets alot of activity there.

I'm just beginning my Saturday this fine morning.

The new old stock Solstice convertible top is now in Jacksonville, Florida waiting on my friend to pick it up.

My son gave me a roll of microfiber towels, so I modified a HF towel rack to work with it.

You know a part is junk from the factory when Dorman remakes & sells it.
Namely the license plate lamp housing that is for the Hummer & many more GM cars of the era.

Added trim rings around the HVAC controls on the Hummer.
Got them for the Solstice (same HVAC controls) a couple of years ago, and didn't like how they looked on it.

Had tree roots clog up the sewer again.
Years ago I made a little map with measurements that shows where the cleanouts are, so marking it out makes digging easy.
Cabled cutter, & then a copper sulfide product to the rescue.

Nothing better than a new box that is for certain.

I know you aren’t trying to buy stuff to store but your two season weather and shed idea is a good way to get more space in the garage.

This option might not appeal to you but if you’re storage facility is ok with this build a loft above your Vega and have basically another storage unit for free (except costs for wood). My 10x20 storage unit I rent had a have loft in it from prior tenant cause my ceilings are 14 foot tall. In the front half I have 12 foot tall commercial racks sort of like Costco and HD and I have an aisle in the middle with rolling carts. I’ll get pics if you’re interested?

Another option for you since the Vega is under where the loft build would be is to build a set of stairs up where your new 6 foot tall rack is. This is of course if you plan on keeping the Vega and paying storage.

Just an fyi because I have 3 of those racks similar to yours in front of your Vega up on my loft that are full of garage type supplies currently.

Kids and cats love an empty box. In fact the next time I’m near our appliance stores I’ll see if they have any fridge boxes and grab a few for my granddaughters to make a fort the next time they stop by.

Have a grand day.

Oh yea I have no idea what your storage space costs so it might be cheaper to build a shed or rent another one. For me it’s a no brainer cause our 10x20’s at a decent clean facility rent for $350 per month.

At one time I had a big shop and 5 10x20’s so I even had Costco type racks above my old aluminum trailer I parked inside one of the units. I put 3 12 foot tall 4 foot deep racks crosswise so trailer fit under it sort of like your Vega could then I had 3 shelves above the trailer to fill with stuff.
