Pleased to find this group. Have multiple antique/vintage tools I inherited from my Grandfather, who was a “jet engine mechanic”

Is there any possibility we could get a clearer image of the herald mark on this large open-end service wrench:

That Carter "Carburettor" repair kit is a gem. The old WDO and WGD models date back to 1930s-1950s. (Although Carter did produce a "Dune Buggy Deuce" WGD they revised for early air-cooled VW engines which originally came off a 1946 Hudson Wasp.)

Is there any manufacturer's name on the battery load testing device? (Says "PERFECT" on the dial.)

Nice little New Britain/None Better 1119 wall-hanger socket set. Looks like it's even retained some of the original label on the side.

Are there any other markings/stampings on the Bassick/Alemite Zerk grease gun? Patent date? Patent number?

Definitely some interesting items in that mix.

RE: patent 1475980:

The patent was assigned to the Alemite Mfg. Co. of Chicago, which was subsequently acquired by Bassick (a company that made metal creeper wheels) and later on acquired by SKF, a multi-national corporation headquartered in Sweden.

Decades of mergers, acquisitions, and name changes makes the picture look confusing, but it looks like your grease gun was made no later than 1940, and quite possibly earlier based on the way the handle is marked. (Somebody give me a second opinion on that please - I'm thinking no later than 1928. BK)

The big open-end service wrench is a puzzler.... I will have to make some inquiries.

Once you get those sockets and wrenches sorted out, you might want to photograph them in separate groups and post them in the appropriate threads here - looks like you have some interesting stuff there in the mix.

If you really like the Blackhawk Stuff, I have an old Blackhawk Service Station Jack that needs restored that I would sell. I'm ready to let it go. Pm me if interested.
