Another project. Years ago I made my own countertops for my garage workbench. I used hard maple as I had some of it left over from when I built the Roubo workbench in my basement. Wood isn’t going to stand up to hard use but I really like it. It just feels warmer to me. After Few years of use the countertops were pretty dirty. Some patina is good, but this was too much. I decided that since I needed to disassemble my workbench anyway I was going to sand and refinish each of the two sides of my workbench. Ir still has some patina, but the look is better now.
