I have a Snapon Nano driver I use for work (Avionics), but in their infinite wisdom, they used a 1/4" square drive instead of something interchangeable. I have a crappy Titan brand adapter already, but it is looser than can be on both ends. Does anyone have experience with a good quality(tight) adapter of this kind? This is female square to female hex/apex.

Did you look thru the Apex, Zephyr and Vega catalogues ? If you can’t find one there it probably doesn’t exist.
They exist and I can find them, but after already purchasing one and it turning out to work more like a wobble extension than an adapter, I am trying to find someone with firsthand experience who can vouch for theirs being what I am looking for. Wera makes a couple as well, but I'd rather not pay 3x the average rate for one unless I know it's going to be what I am looking for.

Thanks. I bought a Genius single to put in a bike(kit) Seems fine.
I have some of the Genius in SAE and MM and while the steel and tolerances have been acceptable, the finish and fitment details can be inconsistent. For instance, some of mine don't have the notches in the drive end for the ratchet ball to catch, but a few do. And the square drive depth is really deep so even the ones with the notches are overshot when put together. For a spare bike kit, they would be fine, but I wouldn’t recommend them for regular use or for power tool use.

I've been using this adapter for a few years.

I just realized I have an impact Wiha 72001. Not the shortest. I would have to test it on a ratchet anvil to say if it's snug.

Oh, my bad. I misunderstood the kind of the adapter you were looking for. Looks like I have Zephyr and a Wiha in my bit socket collection. The zephyr has a retaining ring and the Wiha uses a set screw.

How tight is that Zephyr? I am usually moving between bits too fast to fiddle with set screws.
