I buy the generic Tenacity, Meso 4 SC, from Amazon and spray it as a preemergent for crabgrass and to kill the dandelions. It takes the whole 8 oz bottle to mix the 30 gallons that I spray on my yard.

I use Torocity, also a generic. I think I got it in a 2 pack last time I bought it and I still have some left. I put it out 20 gallons at a time in my pull behind. I will check out Meso next time, probably next spring.

How big is your yard? My yard is just over 1 acre. Its about 50k sqft, but I dont spray all of it. There are some areas that are just perennial rye with some fescue mixed in.

I never tried to measure the grass area accurately. Roughly an acre, I ran over 1,000 foot of underground dog fence wire that covers most of the yard and then less the house, detached garage, and concrete driveway.

Shew, I did the same. Said I would never do that again. I have had my line break a few times due to down trees or my FIL dragging his tractor over it clearing some woods. I just left it on top of the ground in my wood line instead of trying to bury it again.

After a relaxing Saturday with friends at their pool, Sunday we decided it was time to clean up the back porch and make it enjoyable again. I always wait until the pollen is gone, but this year we had so much going on this spring that this stayed on the back burner. Sucked it up and got it done, just in time for it get warm. Got it all scrubbed, bleached, and pressure washed. We even pulled off all of the cushion covers and threw them in the washer to get them good and clean.

Also, finished just in time to watch the Heels make to Omaha in a great come from behind 9th inning walk off!

Work golf is the best! Got out on Monday to play in a tournament that we were a sponsor. Its fun playing free golf especially on a work day!

I buried all of mine since it is in the grass. Rented a 4 inch cable trencher and got about 20 feet done in almost an hour because of the sticky clay. Gave up on that and rigged up a sharpened edge 2" flat bar onto my box blade and used my tractor to carve a trench.

I was trying to keep it out of the yard, big mistake. I thought the wood line would be better so I didnt hit it with the aerator and any landscaping, so I rented a trencher as well. That thing beat me up all day, ended up manually shoveling a large area. Then when they ran the power to shop, they tore my fence all to hell so I reburied that part in the yard, much easier. Then I had a tree fall and ripped it up, so I reburied again. Last year my FIL had a bunch of trees cut on our adjoining wood line and inadvertently ripped it up again when using his tractor to move all of the stumps and debris. Thats when I pulled up about a quarter of the fence and just laid it on top of the ground in the Woodline and just buried it where there is a foot path between our houses. That way if it breaks again, it will be simple to repair.

Congrats to the Tar Heels. I've said many times that this is the best week of baseball in America. We've been hosting the College World Series for over 75 years. Because I used "we" I googled using it that way. It's called Basking In Reflected Glory. Hmm, it even sounds better that way. Heels have a solid chance.

I have always wanted to make a trip to Omaha for the CWS. Its looks awesome! I hope they pull it out, I played with Scott Forbes the head coach for the Heels and also with assistant coach Jason Howell. I hope they can finally put a banner in the Bosh! Been the bridesmaids a few times but never the bride!

They showed some clips from the interviews of all 8 teams arriving. Heels head coach was very humble. The CWS is always great. One of the ESPN announcers, Kyle Petersen, is from Omaha. Although he played at Stanford. Him and Karl Ravich do an outstanding job of calling the games.

ESPN does a great job with production at the CWS. Great stories and interviews. Looking forward to the games this weekend.

This isn't a lawn, this is properly striped carpet.
Thank you sir. This heat and no rain is really starting to take it out on the lawn. I usually can get it to look good through July, but this year has been a struggle. Its still hanging in for now.

Also, welcome back to the forum. Looking forward to some of your updates.

I'm gonna need one of you guys to come out to Asheboro for some consulting. After years of neglect, my yard is looking pretty sad. It's no longer worthy of being called a lawn after this dry spell.
Im sure we could work something out, lol. Its really not a ton of work, it just takes a commitment to how you want it to look and then consistency on maintenance. It took a lot to get it established at first and a bit of trial and error, but once I got it where I want it, I have the same process year over year. If you want a fescue yard, wait until fall, overseed, fertilize, and water. You may need to add Lime or Compost or both, but thats about it.

The lack of rain is definitely hurting. Been really putting a hurting on my water bill running the irrigation so much. I have tried some of the water retention/soil amendment products from SiteOne this year during this dry spell. Not fully sure if they are helping but some reports seem to say it takes over a year for it to matter.

Thanks. Life got busy and and just needed to take some time away. Good to be back and catch up on everyone's projects.
