Same thing happened to me for a ratcheting wrench. Had to call the number they gave me an RMA number And the price they’re going to do the refund at. Gave the RMA number to the returns cashier and I had no problem after that.
I really dislike all the big box type retailers, but Lowe's just always seemed second rate to me. Putting Kobalt behind Craftsman was just another of their ignorant blunders, IMO. They are incredibly inconsistent.
