6"-7" of pure powder here, a few small snowdrifts along the edge of the driveway with 10"-12", but nothing horrible, snow stopped around 5pm, I jumped right to it and was done with the driveway, walkways, even the street in front of our driveway all the way across just to play it safe, done by 6:15pm and back into the house to fresh baked bread thanks to SWMBO. The trick, two shovels, side by side to do the rough clearing, then follow up with a single to clean things up. Old ski jacket and thermals kept me warm, even with the wind chill around 8 degrees. Surprisingly, not tired or ache at all, a very pleasant surprise indeed. Life is good.

What you see above is the 1/8"-1/4" of ice that was below the snow and kept me from taking the green ERA 289 Cobra replica out like I had planned for this afternoon. The sun will be out tomorrow to hopefully take care of the bulk of it. What it does not will get a handful of pool filter sand for traction.

So, it's been awhile, carpet set has been installed

Have not decided whether to move forward with the dash color change, still feeling things out.

05 Corvette convertible has moved down the road to it's excited, very young acting 82 year old new owner who had a bucket list item to check off.

This past week I decided I needed another trailer, actually a month ago and lots of hunting, finding most 12-14 year old trailers in decent shape to be higher priced than what I thought they would be, I finally stumbled across a 3 year old "leftover" Featherlite 3110 (IE: new, no mileage) for $400 more than those 12-14 year old 3110's currently within a 400 mile radius of our home. Actually not quite a leftover per se, but inventory apparently removed by the manufacturer from a mid west dealership that went out of business, or didn't pay their bill, not 100% certain as they were a little quiet about the story behind them. 17'6", 2023, 3110 with the optional wheels and stake body sides installed. Not a bad deal given the almost 600 miles round trip to southern Georgia.

Towed home fantastic, now awaiting a new set of tie downs from "Macs" (they make them to order these days). Added some spec Masterlocks, and we are good to go. Plan to break it in with one of the Cobra replicas, then use it to take the 70 GT350 convertible on an extended trip, maybe even a hunt for a new convertible project....As always with us, time will tell.

How are things settling in with the house and garage? Is the lawn doing well? Landscaping come back this spring? I lost some stuff to deer browsing.

No deer to be found this year, racoon, neighbors cats, squirrels, copperhead snakes, black snakes, bunnies, smaller birds, one turtle, hawks, falcons, a few barn owls, even a 400lb bear, but no deer within 10 houses.
On the plus side, besides some sun related browning, the lawn has held up great. Black Berries by the quart, blue berries, while getting rather large, have yet to ripen. Still waiting on 29 yards of double ground, brown mulch to be delivered

Yard is looking good for as dry of a spring as we've had, hopefully the past week will help with a little catchup! Feel like we've been living through monsoon season

I get it, even with the re-engineered swale along the right side of the garage area, going from the back corner of the property all the way to the street, it was still quite wet this afternoon when I was taking the pictures. I've had the irrigation system off since last week, so can't blame it on that. Talking to friends within the water company, there is no real issues with their reservoirs, all are exactly where they should be this time of the year. I've got to play with the zone timing when I do eventually turn it back on.

I was gone 6 of 8 weeks from March thru April for work, missed getting my sprinkler timers hooked up, so to say I am behind the curve is putting it nicely....womp!

Wow!! 29 yards of mulch???!!! That's a huge pile! I just moved 7 yards and that was a lot. I did something cool....bought a new deere tractor, X758. And I bought an aftermarket FEL - CTC 4750+. Wow, having a bucket to move the mulch was so very nice!! My justification is that I'm getting up there in years and this new toy...no, tool, will make it a lot easier. And it does!!!

Property is not big enough for a tractor in my eyes, but plenty of beds and side beds that require that much mulch. Slow and steady work, I'll make short work of it once it's here.

I like the way you roll. I won't be posting it but I am definitely ripping off that line here at the homestead.

No tractor and 29 yards, wow. I am happy to have mine with only 17 yards I did this year. Grew up doing closer to your 29 yards, though, without it. Definitely doable over a couple of weekends.

The yard and back patio are looking fantastic.

Let's not forget what started this amazing journey in the first place, and of course the reason for the creation of this thread, last Wednesday, while sitting in the car awaiting SWMBO at the oral surgeon, I apparently, while no adult supervision was around, had a weak moment, or perhaps a moment of inspiration and purchased as yet, another convertible in a long line of convertibles to end up in my garage. So, this past Tuesday, without fanfare, I hopped on a 5am flight to Fort Lauderdale, Florida to pick up my latest acquisition.
Firstpic.jpg
A 2008 Porsche Boxster S with less than 38,000 miles on it (after my 822 mile return trip), still needs a little baselining, have an appointment at the local private Porsche shop for fluids, filters, the notorious blend door foam, and a post purchase general inspection. Hoping we enjoy it as much as I did on the long power ride home. Only quick stops for food, fuel, and anatomical needs. Rolled the car into the smaller garage a little after 10pm that same evening.

Landscaping is looking amazing Mr. Bill!

Love the 987, they are such great cars, you'll certainly enjoy that one.

Are you taking it to a local Porsche shop that happens to be owned by another feller named, Bill?
