Having one of those days....



Welded that bolt on to make a shovel bracket for the Brick. Shot it with some cold galv paint.

Then realized it was welded to the wrong side of the bracket.

I know why I keep a cut-off wheel mounted to one of my angle grinders.... Now I get to run to the hardware store for a single 3" X 3/8" NC bolt.

Just cut, flip & re-weld the portion with the bolt.

And then realize I posted my vent to the wrong thread....

I had to cut the head entirely off the bolt and I prefer to start fresh. Waiting for the paint to dry with the bolt on the right side of the bracket.

Got another warranty replacement tool. This is a 7/8 deep 12 point socket. Craftsman representative let me choose which socket I wanted since they don’t offer shallow or deep 6 point chrome sockets anymore. I needed a 7/8 deep to fill in one of my sets that I’m making anyway so figured might as will pick that one. I could have picked a 6 point shallow 1/2 drive impact 7/8 but I prefer chrome sockets unless I’m using an impact.

Pittsburg oil filter socket set - used the 93/15 on my F250 this afternoon. Fit and worked well on an over tightened oil filter.

7 quarts Valvoline 5W-30 full synthetic oil, a funnel and a filter wrench I’ll be returning from Menards (changed the oil in my truck today)

Been looking off and on the last couple of months for a set of angle wrenches. I have a couple individuals but wanted a full SAE set and if I'm getting SAE, I want metric too. Since they extended the parking lot with 35% off ICON wrench sets, I bought both.



I also bought a die wrench for work but I think it's nicer than the one that came in my Cman tap & die set, so it's staying at home.

Kinda wish the SAE set went substantially larger.

Been on a bit of a bit set binge lately. I’d bought some 6” versions of these and have been surprised at the quality. So I figured I’d give some short guys some real world impact testing to see if they can really take it.

That rat…..well I bought the rat just because it was red. I just couldn’t resist t. Damn shame the back drag is a real drag. I’m sure I’m not the only one suckered in my the color selections. Any good recommendations on lubing it up guys? - thanks.

I was not happy with the back drag on this titan ratchet plus it felt notchy. So disassembling and cleaning up some machining fairy dust that remained and lubing with avocado oil (don’t tell the ole lady please) smoothed all the notchy out but the back drag is still not great.

Point is, I don’t recommend them.

A 72" is great for doors--it was half of a door kit from Stanley with a 24" for the lintel. Getting the hinge side shimmed perfectly straight is a breeze. For this job, it serves more as a straight-edge. It finds a lot of uses around the shop and plant as both level and straight-edge.

Well I just had to return the grinder to Home Depot.

I couldn’t get the guard on.

I know you press down and rotate it CCW but this thing would only turn about an 1/8”. I even gave it some love taps but that thing refused to rotate and lock in place.

And then at Home Depot, a Packout Crate for use on top of the M18 vacuum. The crate is made in USA which is surprising.

Those look like a workpro set I bought and subsequently had to fill in the 15mm size.

They do seem to sell them individually to fill the gaps.

Needed some new picks, just happened to be in Lowe’s and see these on sale for $8. I really like the feel of the handles!

I wanted another Fiskars utility knife, but I couldn’t stop there. The small Fiskars flip is too small to really feel comfortable, but it sure is easy to carry. The Craftsman is my only retractable folding knife. Not really sure of its purpose and the liner lock is too stiff. The Bosch flip is well made, has a metal body, a string cutter, and blade storage. Larger than most. The only downside to what I find to be a great feeling unit, is the handle gets dirty. Tub of towels has mitigated this problem, and the Fiskars continues to be my favorite. I’m running low on people to give my excess to.

I've been wanting to get some for awhile now. Definitely some jobs in the past where these would of been handy to have and made the task easier.
