Then the Church Sale and a Gerber multi-tool for $5 this one IIR is std issue to US troops - I have another pair but if its slightly different its a very similar center pull design.

I learned some things (far from all) about the MP600 series Gerber MultiPliers today. They made them extensively for the services and civilian use; and at least two sizes and many blade/tool configurations.

The new one is a bit smaller, and doesn't have the "ruler" on the side, or the folding lanyard ring:

Went to a big tool sale today and came home with some interesting finds. This sale was ran by a tool collecting junkie trying to downsize a bit. The tool spread was quite interesting with a number of items I had never seen before. I think more than anything this guy was all about the thrill of the hunt. Discovering and researching interesting tools and of course getting **** worthy deals. I assume once that rush wore off he didn't have much attachment to even the rarest of finds and overall the prices were very fair.

Here is a tool I had no idea existed (other than say something like the modern day Tite-Reach extension). It is a non-ratcheting ratchet where the head spins relative to the handle spinning. The seller was excited to show it to me and of course I couldn't turn it down for the $8. Apparently these are quite rare and sought after in the aviation world.

IMG_4809.jpeg

I haven't seen this particular box before but I love the dual branding.

IMG_4813.jpeg

I dug through tubs of sockets and found a few 1920's era Snap On S/O sockets. I always look for these. Most people don't pay any mind to such things as they are not shiny and chrome with a big Snap On billboard attached. The seller immediately knew what they were but only wanted $1-$2 a socket.

A nice little set of metric Apex magnetic sockets. I always try and grab Apex stuff in the wild whenever I come across it, especially when it's cheap. All these for $10.

So a good day went to great after a discussion with my son - more on that later.

Col Flea day, plus 2 (3) planned stops plus 2 TOO's one of which was a church Flea.

Col Flea was a bit slow: a pack of Silk Lites for a buck, and a par of toy derringers (replacing my childhood) for $10

FM1-Silk-lites-toy-derrengers.jpg

One YS produced: for $15 total - Porter Cable and Rockwell routers, plus a Stanley 78 plane in VG shape. the Japanning is almost 100% - both routers run the RW needs bearing lube at a minimum.

Y1b-Porter-Cable-Router.jpg
Y1a-Rockwell-Router.jpg
Y1c-Stanley-78-plane.jpg

Then a stop at the great ES from last week; closed but one of the 2 brothers was there, remembered me and the 3D printer was still there, and came home with me for $20!

ES1-Ender-3D-printer.jpg

It's an Ender 3 and is almost unused. - this was what I discussed with my son and He said I got it for Highway Robbery. it came with a spool of PVA and another of PETG. (one of those spools cost more than I spent)

He has a similar Ender 3 Max Neo now and really likes his.

Then the Church Sale and a Gerber multi-tool for $5 this one IIR is std issue to US troops - I have another pair but if its slightly different its a very similar center pull design.

The Triangle picture stands were a TOO for a buck each and are for my smaller Solar panels I use for 12V up camping. and the combo wrench is a Long C Craftsman from a late posted stop.

With few sales listed on Craigslist, today was another search for TOOs day. The first sale was a listed moving sale. Not many tools but some useful items. Romex has gotten to be quite expensive so these rolls seemed worthwhile plus a couple of bits to help with installation. A Nicholson file and a couple of file handles IMG_8816.jpeg
A small TOO off of Pioneer Trail netted these after much searching. A Craftsman and DeWalt magnetic bit holder and S-K Phillips driver.IMG_8818.jpeg
The final sale of the day was a TOO in the Tahoe Paradise neighborhood. It was definitely my favorite with some additions to my Powr-Kraft power tool selection and a hand grinder for ridiculously low prices. They threw in a pair of gloves for my copilot and a book for our neighbor who had joined us for the day. All the power tools were perfectly operational with just the power cords needing some attention.IMG_8822.jpegIMG_8823.jpegIMG_8824.jpegIMG_8825.jpegIMG_8826.jpegIMG_8827.jpeg

Woke up at 4am today to head to a tool sale. It is about 1,600 miles away which is a bit further than I usually travel😁. Hope to get some pictures up tonight.20260613_065320.jpg
Yesterday my wife spent building some crates from scratch to get our haul home.
Today is loading the crates and I will grab some pictures of the haul. Should be around 5,000 pieces!
I should have some pictures tonight.

Those early 4 points are rare! Nice find! That deserves some suckage.

That is pretty close to a description of all my small tap n die sets. Due to the thin width of the tools, don't really need 3D cases. I have a smaller one running around that is much cheaper than this one just two pairs of spikes for hinges. This one is only one board thick at each half, with a little space routed out in the top due to the thickness of the bigger bits.
PXL_20260613_164017580-X2.jpg
PXL_20260613_164025382-X4.jpg

These aren't nearly as delicate as a micrometer, don't need the extra space.
I took a closer look and compared it to some catalog pictures yesterday, and I think you're right. It looks very like the as-sold boxes, and even has what I think is the remnants of an inside lid sticker.

Will try to identify the exact kit model sometime in July, when I am not coming home from work too tired to do much but feed the cats.

Revisited the estate from last time, hoping to get the group of Craftsman locking pliers I ignored. Turns out someone had the same idea but they only took the needle nose pairs. Didn't touch the Vise-Grips either. Craftsman scraper, Red Devil scraper, Stanley punches, Indestro wrench with the fancy signature, 3 in 1 can (full or at least pretty full.)
IMG_20260614_145200824_HDR~2.jpg

How could I bear to not raid the bar again? No more Moosehead bottle openers but some Hobgoblin glasses and tins were packed up in a dark cabinet. These had been popped open and the beer pilfered, but in its place was an extra glass in each. I'll find something dumb to store in the tins eventually. Maybe some posters I have pre-rolled. Bonus 25¢ eagle mug.

I had a good weekend picking even though it is hot as hell up in the northeast. Saturday started slow with a few stops and not finding much then got on the board with a couple small knives. A Camillus with SK and Facom etched on and a no name Snap on both with nice edges.
IMG_7475.jpeg
Next up I spotted a tool box with a set of craftsman metric 6 point wrenches the guy said $10 bucks so I grabbed the whole thing it has a bunch of sockets in the bottom nothing great though. The box is “Tuff box” seems well made, thick plastic. He also had some knives, a Schrade old timer Bowie and a pal fighting knife again both with nice edges for $10.
IMG_7470.jpegIMG_7471.jpeg

After that I stopped home and grabbed my son who said one of his little buddies parents were having a sale that we checked out. Made out pretty good for $5.
Stanley clamp on vise 2” jaws
Panavise with nice plastic jaws
Starrett 160 machinist vise with the case hardened finish
Plomb 3/8 pebble ratchet crusty as hell, works in the direction it’s set to but selector is stuck.
Bonney CV stud puller

Last stop Saturday was a late starting estate sale. $20 for a 100ft of 12/3 Romex,
$5 for the chop saw blades, one is brand new
$5 for a box of fire crackers a few Roman candles and a few mortars.
Proto LA double open wrench
Vise grip RR’s hose pinch off pliers
I’m bummed I had a 10 tine pitch fork set aside to grab and left without it. Oh well!

IMG_7474.jpegIMG_7480.jpeg

Today I just hit the flea market because there were no good sales advertised. $55 for the trip

2 Proto body hammers with original octagon handles
Klein T-handle hex keys metric and sae. Bummed the metric is missing the rack and 2.5 is missing the short tip
Old 40’s ish Craftsman 1/4 spinner handle
Starrett no.63 square a little crusty but should clean up nice.
Round bench block, no name
Chunk of brass

Today I needed to run down to Lowe's as I needed some window seal for what is supposed to be a hot weekend, and decided to swing by the sale I hit on Thursday were they knew what they had, tool wise, and priced it accordingly. I figured on the third day, and in the heat, the prices would have dropped. And along the way I hit a TOO.
55334771176_bf705064d9_b.jpg
The Snap-on body hammer came from the TOO, which I stopped at when driving by due to seeing a lot of 20-30 year old power tools, and figured there might be something else hidden away. And they knew exactly what it was and who made it. But we settled on $7 for it. The rest came from that sale I was heading to: Proto 2# dead blow, Cornwell combos, Herbrand combo, Klein needle nose, and a raking pick. We settled on $20 for the lot, as, just how I figured, they were looking to finish up the sale. I couldn't believe that the Cornwell's were still there, and neither could the seller, but, like I said, he just wanted them gone at that point.

Slow Sunday but managed an unusual and rare find plus some near free "supplies" at a TOO and then a GPA I need to ID closer but it appears to be similar to a Cook Quick Model 112 (probably a 12) stove was made or badged by Okeefe & Merritt, a Los Angeles, California, company - according to the Terrence Marsh Pages. Got it for cheap as "parts" as it is not clear if its recoverable, even though complete but for the legs (which should be an easy fab) - NO label tag on mine, it's MIA... I suspect this in in the early to mid twenties vintage.

The supplies: Jasco brush cleaner - near full, Brasso - near full, Carb Cleaner, and 2 jars of gold leaf (needs mixed well, but is still liquid)

TOO-carb-cleaner-Jasco-Brasso-Gold-Leaf.jpg

And the stove - after a bit of research on the 12 and 112 numbers I only found 3 other stoves besides mine - so rare enough I'll make the attempt to get it operational again. The legs are made from flat bar maybe 1" or a bit less, bent into a 45 degree Z.

It is much worse for the wear, sat outside rusting; sometimes in standing water, but I can't see any holes all the way - yet...

The main difference between all 3 of the others I found and mine are the side wind screens. and the hole pattern on the pot support plate and the grate pattern:, and my grates are bigger.

Y1-Stove.jpg

The tank has hooks for the two rectangular holes low on this side and that rod slides out to allow the generator to engage, then locks it in.

Y2-Stove.jpg

Like this:

Y2a-Stove.jpg

Slots for the legs:

1781469545183.png

and as I said, easy to make:

Wy wife and made a trip out to Northern California to buy a Plomb tool collection. We spent the 1st day building crates to ship all the tools back.
Today we spent unloading tools chests and packing them all up.
We finished up with 3 30" x 48" x 30" crates full on Plomb tools and display boards.
Tomorrow they get loaded on the semi heading for South Dakota!

R_Olson_06, I think that we should start a lottery for which one of us becomes adopted by you (or at least mentioned in your will)

CONGRATULATIONS!!! Please start a full thread once you are unpacking and putting things back on the boards!!!
🤣. I am 37 so hopefully the adoption route.
I will get a thread going once we get the crates back and start unpacking. The majority of these will be going back into circulation so other Plomb collectors can fill out there sets. It was part of the agreement with the previous owner of the stuff. He wanted to get back out so people could enjoy it.

You could fill a swimming pool with Plomb and jump in like Scrooge McDuck.

I've been too busy to hunt tools much. The local flea market happens on the first Sunday of each month, and I was able to go there before I went off to work. It turned out pretty well.

Polk Flea .jpgNational Drill Stand for fractional sizes
Plomb LA 2056 slide hammer puller
Plomb USA 5461 1/2 dr. extension
Plomb USA 5216 3/8 dr. 12 pt. socket 1/2
Duro-Chrome 1/4 dr. 6-pt. socket 5/16
Stanley 1/4 nut driver (user)
K Star feeler gauge (I use the leaves to fix collectable units)
"Made IN USA" angle screwdriver
Williams 5481A "Superrench" DBE 3/4 x 7/8
Hobby knife handle
Icelite 7191 screwdriver (first I've seen)
Air hose connector
5/16-24 Tungsten Steel tap
Truecraft 1914 DBE 13 x 14MM (user)
Indestro 44019 combo 19MM
Select Steel combo 1/2 (more about this later)
Proto USA 9832 screwdriver
Proto LA 3020 DOE 5/16 x 3/8
Barcalo "Scoop" "Billboard" combo 5/16
Meteor ign. DOE 7/16
Snap On VS5240 obstruction DOE 1-1/4

Other Makers.jpg

Indestro No. 3209 1/2 dr. speeder. No name, just the number
Long-C circle-H 1/2 dr. speeder.
Snap-On SD-12 screwdriver
Wards Master Quality groove joint pliers
Wards Master Quality slip joint pliers
Chrome X Quality W2425 DOE 3/4 x 7/8
Diamond 10" Adjustable Old! Slightly modified
4 new pressure gauges (users)

The Select Steel combo is one I have been looking for for years. I bought a set of these from the local hardware store as a teenager to work on my Model A Ford. I had to adjust the valves one day (it had been upgraded to adjustable tappets) and didn't have a wrench to fit. I ground my 1/2 open end narrow enough to fit, and other brand combos replaced it. This one will complete my set back to original, and it is in pristine condition! I've had that set for 60 years!

Saturday was the local annual Auto Swap Meet. It was pretty well attended, but not as many vendors. There was some interesting stuff, and digging in boxes under the tables was entertaining!
P&C Proto and PLomb.jpg
P&C 2746 combo 1-7/16
P&C 2518 DBE 1/2 x 9/16
P&C 6205 1/2 dr. extension
P&C 3/8 drive speeder. No part number, and earlier P&C logo. After Plomb acquisiton, but prewar?
Plomb/Proto 3039 DOE 3/4 x 7/8 Dual-marked
Proto LA 3440 DOE Tappet 13/16 x 7/8
Proto LA 1220 combo 5/8
Proto USA 1210 combo 5/16

Various.jpg
Edit: Two gauges for a road grader I'm working on
Walden 392 Tomahawk 13/16 x 7/8
Herbrand H-4 Vanadium Tappet DOE 3/4 x 7/8
Western Giant combo 1/2
Chrome X Quality combo 3/8
Wizard DOE H2052 1/2 x 9/16
General Hardware drill sharpening gauge (older, with stamped marks)
Shop made machinist's clamp
Starrett No. 13 6" scale/square (the clamp screw/nut and the level are perfect. We will see what Evaporust can do)

20260613_225806.jpg
I saw this Kennedy 526 Machinist's Chest, and noticed it still had some good stuff inside. The price was reasonable, so it came home with me. The front cover is missing the handle and that spring-loaded ball that keeps it from falling out when the lid is opened. A prior owner had bent the brackets that push the lock pins down to hold the front cover in place, but they bent back easily. The original lock had been drilled, probably because a key had broken in it. Otherwise, very good condition.
Kennedy 1.jpg
Two fly cutters
Unmarked telescoping gauge
Mitutoyo 513-202 Dial Test Indicator .0005 graduations. Works great!
4 original Kennedy keys, plus damaged lock stamped to match keys
Small combination square
Mitutoyo 6" 11R scale
Many small short scales/pieces
2 carbide scribes, one of which needs a new point
Center gauge and tap starting block
Many edge and center finders
Modified Starrett punches
Radius gauges from 9/16" to 15/16"
Unmarked center head of good quality
1-2-3 block
Depth gauge foot
Micrometer adjusting wrench
Set of Brown and Sharpe adjustable parallels, largest is a Starrett

Kennedy 2.jpgBottom drawer has:
rods for indicator mounting
Magnetic base
2 inoperative Techlock dial indicators
1 (repairable?) dial indicator
1 serviceable 1" travel dial indicator (China)

I got out the door for less than $100, so it was a good day.

Notice that my last two outings I have been showered with 7/8 wrenches, especially 3/4 x 7/8 wrenches. It is interesting how certain types/sizes/brands seem to show up in droves. I know I left behind several.
