New Member: Used 4 Post Lift Identification Help

Good morning,

I'm looking at this older 4 post lift but am having some trouble identifying the brand and model. The data-plate is almost unreadable and it appears that the model number was written on it instead of being stenciled in. The lift is a 12k capacity lift and uses chain equalization, no cables. I found a video on youtube of someone walking through how an older Worth chain lift works and it does look similar in some ways to this one. Any ideas on what this might be or where I can look further? Chatgpt believes this is an older Bendpak lift HD-12. But I'm unable to verify. Thank you everyone!!

I knew this would be a longshot, but after getting it partially assembled, we were just barely able to read the model number on the data plate. It's a VBM 24012. Apparently Challenger Lifts acquired VBM and it's the same as a Challenger 24012. We have a few adjustments to make and get everything tightened up and should be good to go. I'll post some pics once we get it all tightened up.

With all this crazy weather, we finally got a chance to get back to the shop and finish assembling the lift. Now just need to do some cleaning and a little paint.IMG_0558.jpg

Looks great! And you got it done in a record 3 posts. Welcome to the forum.

Many here will be disappointed you didn't give them a chance to argue about 2 post vs 4 post lifts, brands, country of origin, how thick the concrete needs to be, wedge vs epoxy anchors, what drill bit to use in the concrete, where to place a disconnect switch etc.

Hang around for a while, you will see what I mean.

Nice work getting it assembled and operational.

One thing I always find interesting with older lifts is how well they hold up when they're properly maintained. A lot of equipment from that era seems overbuilt compared to many modern budget options.

The shop itself looks great too. Good lighting, plenty of working space, and the lift placement appears to leave enough room around the vehicle for most maintenance jobs.

Have you had a chance to put it through a few full lifting cycles yet? I'd be curious to hear how smoothly it operates under load and whether you ran into any challenges during the installation and adjustment process.
