There's a gazillion different options. New ones come out every day. Every day!
"Battle of the bit ratchets" thread - excellent source. Andy has done some deep-dive stuff on bits and those goofy ratchets.
I've purchased WAY too many of them. Some good. Some cheesy. Some plain damn silly. Take the plunge. Buy in for under $20 bucks:
Thanks, I'm now on the hunt to add one of those to my collection, a bit leery of buying from an overseas vendor after my adding a (cough) supplier for those Vessel drivers a month or so ago.

Tornados couldn’t keep the Snap-On man away from his Thursday stop.

A 19 & 20mm combo wrenches
14” locking 1/4” extension

He knows I am retired Navy and Commercial Fisherman. He came across this fish thing and Navy ashtray in an old house he is renovating and he gave them to me this afternoon.

Not sure if I missed something in this mini ratchet thread on the Utoku that four.cycle mentioned -- I didn't see a link. Thought I'd mention they are available for $20 - $24 from ABD tools: https://abdtoolsandsupply.com/collections/ratchets/bit-ratchet. I haven't purchased from ABD but am looking at a couple of things.

A few oddball Snap-on things for home and work. A 1/4” spinner (it’s ok, I think the Koken one which is a bit thicker and has better knurling is a superior spinner)
How many spinners do you have? Five?

Now you when you're under the hood and using one you can make up your own songs like, "I'll Turn it 'Round" and "Could
It Be I'm Turning a Nut?"

I looked up the USS Shenandoah, just an old habit from a past job. There have, unsurprisingly, been several vessels with that name in U.S. Navy history. This was one of them!

1781851299697.png

Then it crashed in southeastern Ohio and civilians looted the bejeebers out of the wreckage -- so maybe that's where this ashtray comes from! The ashtray does look like aluminum. (I know nothing of seagoing military vessel ashtray metallurgy.)

It’s made of solid brass. I suspect it’s from the destroyer tender AD-44, possibly the previous destroyer tender AD-26

Another to join the 46mm I picked up recently. It's for M24 bolts/nuts. 475mm (19") long, weighs 1.2kg (3lb). Being a smaller one, it's chromed rather than plain finish, and it does have plenty of fine scratches and tiny speck chips. That's enough with the big wrenches now.

I got a 74T T-handle new old stock a while back. These are used and pretty good condition, just the handles are a little scratched up, and a few specks of rust on the shaft inside the handle on one of them. Some tools are still made with Isoryl handles, but most have been superseded by ProTwist handles.

Traded a few items I didn't need (TMNT tractor, Gerber MP600 M4 Sight Tool, and a Hot Wheels Redline Grasshopper--knew what they were worth, but knew I couldn't get that (note to self, figure out eBay and/or Facebook Marketplace--oh, and call my accountant to figure out the whole tax thingy--I know the 20K minimum has gone back and forth over the past 6 years).

The owner of that store, who I buy from a lot, said he couldn't afford to pay me cash for it, as well, stuff doesn't sell fast around here.
Finally, I brought some stuff to the counter, which he took my stuff in trade for.

Gatco Edgemate--the 5-stone model. They're about $50 new, and this one wasn't used much.

Already tried it out--looks like what I'll use to sharpen my stuff from now on--but mostly shorter blades. I think you can buy longer rods for the Lansky, which I presume will work on this one too.

Diamond hones are planned, too.

100_0471.JPG

Two measuring tapes--price was right, and they're super-well built.

Lufkin will be used as needed, Craftsman is to go in Granddad's old box from the '60s and stay there.

Lufkin 6-foot tape measure (spring is still insanely strong) . Model No. worn off. Belt clip on it too.

Craftsman 3940.

100_0476.JPG

1960s-ish knockoff of a Zippo Slim (stamped " Park Lighters")--made in Japan. Best I can tell, these were 40s-70s.

It's worn out, but my Granddad was good friends with the owner of Tabor Machine; and did a lot of business with them in the '70s and '80s--I also don't think they've been out of business that long--maybe 20 years? (Edit, they're still in business--founded in 1961, and moved to Princeton a couple years back). Already put away in its permanent home--my display case (actually, my old childhood trophy case) that had all those trophies boxed up and became a bit of a small-scale mining museum.

Lighter was purchased by the owner of the antiques store in TN, oddly; and that's where the company who made these is located. The machine shop advertised is in the next town over from me.

I got a used dcs377 band saw for a $90 in like new condition. Probably don't need it but I'll get no help in justifying not getting it here. My dwm120 has a permanent home in the Hercules band saw stand now that I have it cutting accurately. Not a big fan of reciprocating saws for decent cuts so a band saw might be the cat's meow.

I love how much light it throws and how crisp the light is (good CRI):

I have the same 40V Makita light and have been really pleased with it. Hold on to that LX470 as long as you can. Wish I still had mine. My 570 has been far more problematic.

Picked up a HF USG magnetic outlet strip in Slate gray today with the ITC 25% off coupon. . . . now that I look at it, the cashier only gave me 20%....

And let me guess, did they too try to say you needed to renew your ITC? They did that with me once, literally a week after I renewed online as I'd let it lapse as for the longest time, I didn't go to HFT (especially when I have a Proto dealer not 10 minutes from my house, and HFT is almost a half-hour--and I was expanding with the old SK stuff that same mine and industrial supply was practically paying me to take). There's one cashier that constantly tries to upsell too. Meanwhile, with the mine supply--it basically equates to--call the guy in the office, hand him the cash, and go home. Or if I am stuck with the card (I think they don't take card payments under $50), go in the tool area with the manager, grab whatever old stuff that I like that hasn't probably sold since I was in diapers--and then go home.

Icon g2 14” ratchet to replace FX80A.
It took 2 weeks to arrive in the UK from the US. Overall quality is subjectively about 80% of Snap on, but considering the price it’s a no brainer. Even at £75($100) I consider it a good buy with no alternatives on the UK market.

Biggest difference(to my F80, except length) is anvil/pawl engagement and I feel that Snap on has tighter tolerances in machining those moving parts. I will upgrade this ratchet with Snap on’s repair kit and possibly soft grip handle. Icon’s handle is a good quality and quite comfortable however.

Harry Epstein's in Kansas City USA has the 13mm for $4. I suppose shipping is the problem where you're at, but maybe not?

For some reason I don't have a flex head this long. After 2 decades of turning wrenches. So I picked up a facom in proto flavor.

IMG_1785.jpeg

Nice!

I have the SK Tuff-1 straight and flex head in 3/8--they're basically Facoms wearing SK clothes, as Facom owned SK at the time. They were my first decent ratchets that didn't fall into the typical range of "at least old enough to vote, and sometimes old enough to collect Social Security".

My flex-head is a unique bent head that fits in places others won't.

I'd found those a while back before I gave up on getting Isoryl ones. They have both the 74 and 74T in that size, with plenty of stock.

They want $117 to ship, so I passed. Not that useful above 10mm anyway.

Nice to see a pneumatic brake bleeder turned into a ****- O-Matic! Do you have some tubing stuck into the rubbery end?

To late, I have both 🤣:

And currently looking at an 80-series in Arizona 🙄

What issues with the 200-series? Both my rigs have been bulletproof.

:ROFLMAO:

I had an 80-series and a 100-series that were bulletproof to over 200k miles. Expected the same from my 200-series but at fewer miles I've had many failures:

Valley Plate coolant leak
Radiator
Starter
Water Pump
HVAC Blower motor
Radio Headunit - TWICE
Mark Levinson amplifier
Power steering pressure hose
AHC shocks
Transfer case actuator
AHC globes
Rear axle seals

Problems that I haven't had but are known issues on the 5.7L engine: timing chain tensioner, cam tower leaks, timing cover leaks, secondary air injection issues. A number of folks have reported head gasket failures.

Still a decent truck but, in my opinion, really bad compared to what Toyota used to build. My truck is getting old and typically I'd look for a 300-series, but they're under an unsolved recall for engines blowing up!

A close friend's grandfather was one of those civilians that helped himself to some mementos from the Shenandoah crash. He was from Marietta Ohio.

Laserliner Easycross, small but powerful green crosslaser that comes with elevation bracket with magnets on the back. Quite an upgrade from my old red laser which worked best at night with the curtains drawn. This one is visible in direct sunlight.
It was on sale, 72 EUR / 83 USD, about half price of what I've seen earlier.

I like your green wall and tool holders! Have you seen Jack Olsen's 12 Gauge Garage thread? He's an American. His garage is legendary. He uses a similar green.
