I was cruising Amazon out of boredom, looking at tool carts when this caught my attention. We recently moved into a new house with an oversized one car garage and I’m looking for a small, light weight tool cart I can put one of my 3 drawer blow molded mechanics tool sets on top that can also be easily maneuvered around. I am skeptical because it’s plastic, so not really sure what to think. It wouldn’t have a heavy amount of tools in it, just the basics. Have you guys seen this unit before and what are your thoughts?

For what it’s worth, I feel that a US General tool cart or similar would be too big and difficult to maneuver around a vehicle for my purposes in a one car garage.

If its made from the rubbermaid "structural foam" its a tank. We have a SF cart in our warehouse and its had 100's of pounds on it without issue.

I'd be interested to know what the slides for the drawers are like, if they even have slides. Other than that I generally find Rubbermaid products to be among the best.

Rubbermaid utility carts are bulletproof so I wouldn't doubt that it's robust. Those dimensions stand out to me as a very small item.

Don’t do it. You’ll regret it. It’s not the same form factor and it’s more expensive. HF has a couple different sizes of cart last I looked. But I’d get the 5 drawer and not look back. If you do anything with your cars at all, or want to in the future, you will grown into the HF cart.

I'd pass....if you want a service cart but find the HF too big, there's several smaller one drawer/no drawer options. The 4 drawer one from HF is shallower than the 5 drawer one for instance. A few Husky and others out there.

I keep one of these around....they come in very different variants and often go on sale for stupid cheap:]]

After looking a little more into it, I decided to find something else. The reviews on Amazon weren't exactly the best.

I've worked a number of places that used the regular Rubbermaid carts (no drawers) and they are hard to kill. They're the cockroaches of shop equipment.
I also use and abuse my RMaid cart. It's carried waaay more weight than I'm confident it was designed for (automatic transmissions , engine short blocks, etc.) and has seen all of the chemicals an auto shop has to offer without complaint. It looks like ****** hell but is undamaged and still rolls smoothly.
The knock off versions are far less durable. I'd not hesitate to buy the RMaid drawer cart if it suited my needs.

I might've left a 425 steer tire casing on a coworker's one day...and he thought it was hilarious and continued to push it around like that. They'll take obscene amounts of weight.

I just started a promotion working in a one four government buildings as a government employe. This will be my cart every day. My only issue is the tires. So, I’m hoping that I can upgrade them to something that’s more all terrain.

I would check out marketplace for a used medical cart. An industrial one like this, I see them once in a while for < $200-300.
