Gonna have to replace a pair of tyres as they've got age related/UV cracking on the sidewalls which is annoying as they've only done a couple of thousand miles.
Its running 195/70/15 on stock steel rims but i'm not sure whether to go with summer tyres or to fit all seasons. Theres only around a £5-£10 difference if you shop around.
I know all seasons are a bit of a compromise (not as good as a summer in the summer months and not as good as a winter in winter funnily enough). Some reviews i've seen say you lose a little MPG (its a 2.5 petrol auto so giving **** mpg anyway but i'd rather not get less), that they're a bit noisier than summer tyres and wear quicker. They're likely to need replacing due to age before they wear out so thats not really a problem.
Really not sure if all seasons are worth it.

This was the weather all day here.


Bought a pair of Maxxis vansmart tyres (the same as i have on my daily driver caravelle). They'll get fitted on wednesday while i'm doing the weekly shop which saves doing an extra 25 mile round trip to get them done.

Quick coat of gloss black on the numbers matching (date stamped 17/93) steel wheels on our Autosleeper clubman. Plus I wire brushed and painted the spare wheel ready to replace it's 30 year old tyre on Wednesday.

Another nice looking sunset last night.

It was 20c (68f) at 7:45am when i took the dogs out. Forecast 27c by lunchtime. But also a 60% chance of rain.
Some bits of shade in the woods round the quarry which was nice.

The dogs appreciated this watering hole.

Finally found why the AC wouldn't switch on the fans or compressor clutch. A badly repaired wiring plug at the pressure switch (the wires were just twisted together and pushed into the plug) so it was barely making contact. Waggling the plug made the clutch engage and the radiator fans spin up.
Chopped off the plug and used a couple of spade connectors until i can get a new plug.

It was 31c (88f) in the van which dropped nearly 10 degrees in 10 minutes with the AC on. Not sure how cold the air coming from the vents is but it seemed pretty cold.
It might possibly still need a top-up as hadn't worked in quite a few years before we bought it.

We had a quick rain shower this afternoon at around 4pm. Only 10 minutes long so it didn't make a difference to how muggy it feels outside. Still in the high 20s celscius.

Already 20c when i took the dogs out at 7am. Got back at 8:30 and it was nearly 23c. Sun was still low enough that there was shade around the reservoir.

One of the woods has now gained a name (not that i can pronounce it, but its got a name) and an information board.

Theres a deer somewhere in those woods.

Just had the spare tyre swapped on our Autosleeper. Yep, that's a 1992 date code. It still had the little whiskers on the tread so it's never seen the road in its whole life.

Nice new pair of Maxxis Vansmarts fitted to the front.

Sun had moved round so the caravelle was back in the sun again when i came out of the supermarket.

Our caravelle came with nearly new Continentals when i bought it and you could throw it into a corner and it'd stick like sh!t to a blanket. When they needed replacing i priced them up at £140 ($185) a corner fitted so went for budget ones at a 1/3 the price as money was tight and the difference was like night and day. On the same corners i could go into at 55-60mph with the Continentals it struggled at 1/2 the speed.
I bought mid range tyres after that and though not up to the continentals its made a helluva difference.

Another local woodland has gained an interpretation board.

Had the dogs out for a walk in the woods before it got too hot for them. Still 23c (73f) at 7am though there was a bit of a breeze.
