Any chance I can get an interior view of the 3/8” drive set? I received this box today and it’s slightly different than my S-K equivalent and yours probably has all of the pieces.
I added some sockets and an extension. I have a ratchet on the way.

Did your set appear to be complete with original tools when you got it? I’m curious if the contents exactly match the equivalent S-K set. I’m also curious as to if the drive end of the sockets have the depressions for the ratchet’s retaining ball?

Added some pieces today. I still need a diamond logo long extension, a speeder and a 6 point 3/8” socket with the divots.

All of the Artisan branded tools that aren’t part of the 1/2” drive set

Ha I thought that was in my avatar, I'm in new zealand, I've seen many of these over the years but only realised it was similar to sk a few months ago. Might suggest it was an export brand

Did anyone mention MAC? SK made a version of the beavertail ratchet that was MAC branded.

Yeah, they came up in post #5 but I’ve never seen one in person.

The thread needs to be updated to mention Hinsdale and as company SK made/supplied tools for. Here is the Tombstone ratchet shown in the 1933 Hinsdale fyler.

A Kane set arrived in the mail yesterday from an eBay seller.
Since most of these seem to have been made for export, I was happy to find this one in the USA. The replacement for the peeling 1/2” socket was gifted to me some time back by bmwrd0. Until the arrival of this set it was my only Kane piece. I will be looking for the missing 9/16” socket.
I would say that the box has been spray bombed at least twice since the originals seem to have come black. The relationship with S-K is easy to spot with a box comparison.

The evaporust cleaned up most of the sockets quite well although the two smallest lost much of their plating. It seems as if the preparation for plating wasn’t done particularly well.
I cleaned the bare surface of the two that had lost their plating and added a bit of paint to the areas missing the plating to prevent future rust.

I suspect that the missing 9/16” socket may be difficult to find.
