Those look like bronze thrust washers to me.

I read a library copy when it first came out, and hadn't since, and **** and Zelazny are among my favorite authors--and all five books were only a dollar total. It was an easy decision to bring them all home, even though I may already have some of the others.Deus Irae is a wonderful book. Then again, anything by PKD is top notch.
Craftsman yellow-handled hacksaw.
P & C 6248 1/2" drive offset breaker

Some classic books there! Not much of interest at garage sales around here the last couple of weeks--they mostly look "pink" according to my wife, meaning all baby/childrens stuff and cheap gimcracks and seasonal decor items. But I did get a one dollar shop broom, a D-8 Disston saw, a Disston-Porter 368 hacksaw, 4 Felo Ergonic screwdrivers, a 10WR Visegrips and 5 paperback science fiction novels. About $15 total at 3 different sales.![]()
Ditto!Big suckage on these alone!
That speeder is rare. Definitely deserves the you ****!
Yesterday morning I decided that I was not going to go to any garage sales this weekend. I really need to get some stuff done, and take care of what I have here before adding to the pile.
I took an alternate route up to Harbor Freight, and spotted a huge "G-SALE" sign, and felt compelled to follow the signs to the destination.
After picking through box after box after box after box of rusty orphans, picked a few pieces out of the mess:
three 1/2" female-to-female extensions. two round, one square. no markings other than one is knurled, which looks Sherman-Klove-ish.
Diamond Calk & Horseshoe 6-inch adjustable
Sparta CC24 (for a collector in Ellensburg)
S-K 42470 1/2" RHFT ratchet (spins freely, seems okay other than rust)
Coes 6-inch wrench
Cincinnati Tool Co. 3/8" cold chisels (two each)
Barcalo 1/2" x 9/16" DOE (because... no Barcalo left behind.)
Petersen Dewitt 10R vise grips (actually in pretty decent shape!)
Proto 3/8" cape chisel
Craftsman yellow-handled hacksaw. Production code BB (Stanley?) (Don, does yours have a part number on it?)
Craftsman "Circle H" 1/2" breaker
P & C 6248 1/2"drive offset breaker"6248 Fix Spin’r 15½" 1¾ lbs" (not marked with part number. only the "P & C" logo. I got the part number out of the 1939 catalog No. 40)
Snap-on SSD-6 screwdriver (handle damaged)
Proto Los Angeles 712S adjustable wrench
Crescent J26 bent-nose six-inch slip-joint
Ridgid 14 inch pipe wrench
Craftsman 5/8" drift punch (no part number) "G in a circle" - unknown?
Utica 91-8 8-inch adjustable
BLACKHAWK (no part number) 1/2" drive x 5/8" SQUARE drain plug socket? (who is looking for one of these?)
Action 53JA 3/8" dr 5-inch extension
P & C 5/8" x 11/16" offset double-end box wrench 7-3/4" overall length (NO part number, cannot find match in catalog)
5/16" x 7-1/2" crossbar that some gorilla used for a punch
PEXTO pipe wrench - six inches long - marked 8 - and yes, it is 8 inches long fully extended.
G.A.I. (Japan) plastic-handled scissors
and from the FREE pile:
about two-thirds of a gallon of paint thinner
aerosol spray paint
"Camel Brown" brush-on enamel. I would never PAY for this color, but for free I'll take it.
$10. all in![]()

Slide hammer is for removing brake pads from calipers in situA quick walk around my local car boot sale this morning before going off to a classic car meet gained me these pieces.
Proto AN8505-13 hydraulic coupling spanner. I was really surprised when I picked it up, turned it over and saw it was a Proto. I've no real use for this but I couldn't resist it.
Athol Super Chrome 3/8" Whit combo. UK Govt. property mark, stock number and 1953 date. Little or no signs of use.
Stahlwille Motor, 1/4" x 5/16" Whit DOE.
Stahlwille Stabil 1, 1/4" x 5/16" DOE I always pick up Stahlwille spanners if they are cheap.
Blue-Point WOEX90 3/16" Whit combo. Cad plated with no date code and no signs of use.
Ford branded DOE with no size markings. Marked V G&H P which is the makers mark I assume.
A short throw special purpose slide hammer. No markings at all and I've no idea what it is intended to fit. The two pins are 5mm dia. It's unusual for a slide hammer to be pulling on the face of something rather than on its end.
£3 for all of the above.
Last week I got this Armstrong 12 x14mm DOE for 50p. The 1966 Armstrong catalogue says that metric and Whitworth spanners in this style are "available to special order". I assume therefore that these spanners in metric sizes are not common.

It's actually kind of a slick design, as far as "speeder handles" go. Looks weird. Works fine.

I'll bet those galena chips were for crystal radios. Find some Wood's tin and cast a base for one using a beer bottle cap as a mold, and you're set to pick up some rockin' AM radio!cute little tin had the chip of Galena in it
huh? At first glance, similar to Thorsen model 77. After a second look, it's completely different (female drive, three rivets holding head to shank, striated lines along length of handle)B.P.Co. SERV DIV T-24969 ratchet;
SKILTWN ? another mystery.“SKILTWN”(?) hex/1/4dr adapter
Possibly Worth. The more of those I run into, the more confusing it seems to get. That symbol was used by more than one outfit.daisy forgemark slipjoints,
Yeah, we can barely get a baseball game on AM anymore!I'll bet those galena chips were for crystal radios. Find some Wood's tin and cast a base for one using a beer bottle cap as a mold, and you're set to pick up some rockin' AM radio!
Yeah, I have another slipjoints with this mark somewhere and knew the mfr once upon a time. I just tend to forget whose mark it was.huh? At first glance, similar to Thorsen model 77. I'm stumped.

In my post above, you will see a pair of slip-joints that are not mentioned in the list of items. (left side, eighth item down.)
they are clearly stamped "WORTH". They are so corroded I didn't notice if they also sport that "daisy" logo.
I'll see if I can dig them out and clean them up enough to get a photo and post it in the big "pliers" thread.

Botnik 11” grip pliers;
I thought those looked familiar - I have pair of the BMC No. 7's
Picked these up just to say i got something in june.
Yep american fork and hoe 1942Is the hatchet marked "U.S."?
The ratchet is made by Blackhawk. I can't remember who it was for.ahhh... 'SKIL' ... I thought it was something else... so... no markings on that odd ratchet other than "B.P.Co. SERV DIV T-24969"
that's an odd one.
