1979 Transpower Tool Co. Heavy Duty Drill Press

Got this 1979 Transpower Tool Co. Heavy Duty Drill Press, model TP-500. It was in amazing condition and barely used. I did some light cleanning . Everything works including the bulb. Very precise.
Never heard of this make before , must have been a small company . It was made in California .

Might be picking up this drill press if its still available. Any one ever hear of this brand ? Im assuming its a pretty good model considering it was made in 1979 and isn't some cheap chicom ****. The guy is asking 100$.

Yep based on the other posts, it seems not made in USA. I got it free from a guy selling his house and wanted this out of his house.

I am thinking the nameplate is that of the import company rather than a statement of origin.

The body and controls look nearly identical to my Clarke, a Taiwan model from Tractor Supply from the early 00's.

I kind of loosing interest in this , nothing against Taiwan stuff, but I a like USA made stuff when it comes to vintage stuff. It also came with a small cute drill press vise which is made in Japan but not model information.

that's a made in Taiwan drill press that was badged under many names . they were well made and garner decent respect.
I have one that was given to me, it does everything I ask of it .
