Hello
I went to check out a Delta Model 37-290 4” Deluxe Jointer with a 50-121 stand (cabinet) and a 62-142 ½ HP motor today, just a few miles from my house.
Details: there are two identical units. One works great and is fully functional. We tested with 4x2 and it works great. The other unit doesn’t work properly—the motor runs, but it likely just needs a new bearing. It makes a humming noise when the belt is on. The seller is including that second jointer for free as part of the deal, and both are $100 total.
My thought is to fix the second one and sell it to recover at least half the cost, if feasible.

A few questions:
- Is this a good deal?
- What’s the difference between the 4” Jointer Deluxe and the standard 4” Jointer?
- How much do the bearings typically cost, and where can I get them cheaply?
