7/16 Quik Lok to 1/4 Quik Lok Adapter?

Does someone make a 7/16 quik lok to 1/4 hex quik lok adapter? Know Milwaukee does not. Want to run 1/4 hex quik lok spade bits in a 7/16 quik lok Milwaukee Hawg.

Don't think you can use those particular two with each other.. the first is a pin lock, so if there's no hole in the second adapter, you'll go insane trying to get it off.. I have that 1/2" to 1/4" hex adapter, and can't remember if there's an pin lock hole.. might be, but I can't promise.

Secondly, there will be some play in those,not a lot, but not secure and solid like the 7/16 chuck..

Your best bet would probably be to get the Milwaukee m18 1/4" right angle impact. That hole hawg may put out too much torque for a wide spade bit to withstand anyway.

Ive had to do those exact thing, yes there is a bit of play (always is) but its marginal. The one I have has the hole in the side (thinks its a Dewalt) not that it matters because I just leave the two connected all the time.

Actually, yes - the Milwaukee does have the pin detent hole, so you CAN use both of those together.. you'd have to see for yourself if the hole hawg will twist the long shank on a wide spade bit though.

Ever put a pin lock adapter onto a chrome socket or anything else meant for a ball detent or friction ring? You won't have fun trying to get those apart.. lol. Trust me

Just checked its actually an Irwin. Very little to no play the only disadvantage is the added length. Might be worth looking at Apex they might offer more what your after.

I tried that 1/2" to 1/4" hex adapter with an impact wrench, using it to drive screws.. I didn't care for it.. went back to an impact driver instead.

Agreed, we just have this setup to enable the use of smaller size auger bits (6mm - 12mm) in our hydraulic and battery impacts. Its a lot harder to buy the smaller size augers with a 7/16 hex drive where as can get 1/4 hex drive at any hardware store.

I have / had those apex 7/16 to 1/4 inch adapter.. there's a friction retention for the 1/4" bits, not a quick lock though.

Thanks - I was hoping to find something nested instead of stacked so it's shorter.

The wall thickness will be ~0.090", but with the right heat treat, it's doable...
