Using the lower cost 4' long LED fixtures on Amazon, help me with the layout and number of fixtures I would need to perform different tasks.

I do have a wonderful MaxJax 2 post 4 arm car lift.

Garage is-
24' long
12' wide
12' tall

From working on my 427 Shelby AC Cobra I built back in 2000, body & paint work (nothing major) welding, engine work, hobbies, home repair & tasks. etc.
Prefer 6500 kelvin for paint correction, anything else is too yellow in spectrum.

You need to provide shop details first....dimensions, mounting height, wall color/sheen, floor.
I would start with needing 2 rows of fixtures to illuminate the sides of the car (as well as the top) so you're not working in shadows. As a

6500K would be miserable to work in. 5000K much better. (even that could be a headache maker.)

You need to find the color rendering index (CRI) of these lights...6500K is not the answer for accurate color display.
Details on Amazon don't list CRI (not surprised). They also state the "bulb socket is E26"........so I wouldn't trust too much of this info.

Probably best to pass on these.

If you can't pronounce the name of the brand, I sure wouldn't buy it...

You putting Chinese parts on the car? Maybe painting with rattle cans from Walmart? You can get decent lights for reasonable money

What isn't,....made in China ??? Look at the tag in your Tighty whities Underwear. They might say USA, but you know.....what I mean)

FYI, and everybody,...Fruit Of The Loom Underwear is made in....

"Fruit of the Loom underwear is primarily manufactured in the company's own facilities across Central America, the Caribbean, North Africa, and the United States."

Just buy some decent strip lights

You can also get surprisingly good lights if you are willing to scrounge for used housings.

Yeah, Amazon has a lot of strip lights at good prices. Their probably built by the same company.

Like everything preferences vary greatly. Bright to one person is not enough to another. 6500K would be very uncomfortable for me to work in and I don't even like 5000k as it feels very harsh. My garage is 4000k

Count on anything you buy today not being available when a fixture fails, so an extra or two may be prudent.

At 12' wide, I'd probably do two rows about 3' off each wall and then more where task lighting is needed. So that's 8 fixtures plus task.

I don't apply a blanket statement on made in China, but I do avoid alphabet soup "companies" as they are certainly fly by night and peddling garbage

The sun is 5,800k, and 4,000 is too yellow and unnatural. 6,500 has quite a bit of blue, which is what I like as a autobody & paint man. Retired. We've been saltwater reef hobbyists since 1993 and we prefer 6,500k for corals and fish. Deeper water corals go from 10,000k to 25,000k, which are very blue. Anyway, I could talk reefing all day, so I'll stop. lol 1993

I agree, that's why their great forums like here. Decisions are based on what people know, or don't know, so that's why I'm here and to chat to make friends. Some can handle social media and others can't. If you can discuss matters, then stop and look at other means of your time.

It's your shop, do whatever you want. I'm saying it wouldn't work for me.

4000k doesn't look yellow to me and I'm not diving in my garage 😂

Much better, no point light sources, only 5000k.
They claim a 5 yr warranty....do you have to ship back to China to get replacement? Buy spares once you confirm you like.

Only 3 fixtures permitted connected together. Plan outlets accordingly.
