Hello everyone,
I thought I'd share a few of the modifications I've made in case they give others some inspiration. I've borrowed a lot of great ideas from Garage Journal over the years, so hopefully I can give a little back.
I started with two Series 3 56" roller cabinets, one hutch, one top chest, and I've also purchased two side lockers that I'll be adding soon.
I removed the casters and built a 2×10 base to give the whole setup a rock-solid feel. I also added a few personal touches, including accent lighting and a vinyl-wrapped back panel in the hutch.
For the workstation, I'm running a Dell OptiPlex with a 23" monitor. The second display output is mirrored to a 55" TV across the shop, which makes it easy to view plans, YouTube tutorials, manuals, or wiring diagrams from anywhere in the workspace.
It's been quite an upgrade from my old Craftsman box. I simply outgrew it and could no longer fit my tool collection. I'm really happy with how this setup turned out, and I hope it gives someone a few ideas for their own build. Unfortunately I'm still waiting for the second locker but so far I'm pleased with the setup.
