I got a great deal on this bandsaw but can’t stand the 2 switch safety. Has anyone found a bypass for this. Before anyone says it you can not just Ty wrap one of the switches. In order to reset both switches have to be released then the trigger pulled first followed by the safety on the forward handle.

I don't know the answer, but some newer tools have a "black box" inside them to prevent bypassing safety features- like wire tying one trigger/switch. The newer Metabo right angle grinders have a safety feature that prevents it from starting if you lock the trigger, like with a wire tie, and then plug it in. This makes sense because you don't want to plug it in and have it immediately running if the trigger is tied closed, or it somehow got jammed during storage. I did a design at work for a specialty machine with a Metabo grinder and needed it to stay powered up with the trigger locked- we would turn it on externally. We wire tied it closed but that didn't work- it didn't run when you plugged it in. "oh, that makes sense". So I gave the grinder to the electrician, and he couldn't figure out how to conquer the internals of the black box with limited time - so he completely removed and bypassed it. Which was fine, but we lost the variable speed control; this wasn't a big deal because I wanted to use it on the 5/6 setting, and just used it on max speed instead.

I found a pic! I called it "The Flying Chop Saw". It's a 5" Metabo Inox variable speed grinder with an 8"? Lenox diamond wheel on it- to cut 2" SST pipe in a remote location (no humans directly involved in the operation).

I'v never been around one so Im not sure exactly how they are supposed to work. Are they a mechanical safety or electrical? Have you had it apart? I would think there would have to be something a guy could take out if it was mechanical or splice a couple wires if it was electrical.... I am talking here with absolutely no knowledge of the tool though also.

Good luck on your ease of use quest. But these safety nazi’s are winning the battle it seems.

I’ve got several Milwaukee 120v deep bandsaws and I’m a one hander guy with them. Last year I bought the 18v version and despise using it because of that stupid additional button. Fn assnine

Haven’t had a chance to take it apart yet. I imagine it has a circuit after the first trigger to interrupt the second trigger and require a reset if you let off either trigger. Just trying to see if anyone has already figured it out before I dive in
