Well, I do. Remember, it's all level and I'm not mowing it when it's 6" high. We'll see how long the battery lasts. I'll try and remember to check how many mows I get now after a few years and report back.
Electric lawnmowers in 2026 - any good?

Consumer Reports says either Ego, or Ryobi 40V for mowers, and Ego and then Ryobi for overall battery OPE brand. I don't have an Ego mower, but I absolutely love the blower and string trimmer. It takes me 30+ minutes to trim and edge my lot and the Ego does it on one bar on a 2.5AH battery.
My local Ace hardware sells and services Ego. And Stihl and Toro.

A couple of years ago I bought a Makita XML08 mower on the black Friday deal for $550.
21 in. 18V X2 (36V) Self Propelled Lawn Mower Kit with 4 batteries (5.0 Ah) and a dual charger.
Got $100 from the village for going electric, sold the extra dual charger for $50, sold my old mower for $30. $370 investment. The batteries alone were worth almost $300.
Perfect for my suburban lot. Love the variable walking speed. Only thing I would change is make it front wheel drive for easier maneuverability. Nowadays you may as well go with their 40V platform.

I bought the commercial Honda mower a few months ago for my RV park where our zero turn won't work. I haven't used it, but my employees love it. I needed a new mower, so I just got the HRX-BE for home use. Both purchased from ACME.
I'm a Milwaukee user, but I have zero faith that Milwaukee will have the performance or parts availability that Honda will in 10yrs. I hate yard work, but I'm becoming **** retentive about it, so I don't want to deal with junk when it's an already frustrsting proposition. Once the sun is in my favor, I'm going to give it a whack. I have a bad crab grass issue right now, so it will be a good test at 100°.

What is that? Monstrosity? Is that battery? Just huge? It's getting almost impossible to buy a gas-powered mower... But I'm low enough. I'm not sure I could get away with an electric and when I mow thick grass I'm not sure I could get away with electric. The motor and compartment to hold 2 big batteries. I've read reviews where people are bothered by the aesthetic of it, but to be frank I really couldn't care less what tools look like as long as they work. We'll find out that part in a couple of hours.

I think you will be very pleased. I've got the Milwaukee and recently had to deal with very tall Crabgrass, it was not fun. I'm considering giving the Honda a try as well.

Our Stihl cuts through tall, rank vegetation as well as or better than our 5 hp Honda ever did.

You are right, it was badass! I can't speak for how it compares to other makes/models, but I'm stoked on it! I did 2 passes on my ~4,500 sqft lawn and it used 3 out 4 bars on the 12.0Ah battery. First pass was on level 4 and the 2nd I dropped the deck to level 3. No clumps of grass left anywhere. Night and day different than me pushing the gas mower last weekend. Not having the engine fan blasting me in the face with hot air, and having self propulsion was awesome. I'm even more impressed considering it's 102° right now and I started about an hour and a half ago.

Reading through here just in case my Toro decides to croak - I have been pushing it about since it replaced the prior 20 YO Toro in 2008. I like the idea of not messing with tune ups each spring, and the quietude of the electric, but on the other hand one electric neighbor can only do 1/2 their lot on their only battery (think it is an EGO).
I am more afraid that my ticker will give out before the Toro does, but with the price of half-azzed lawn cutting services I intend to keep on .. wonder if there are lease plans for electric lawn mowers?

For what it costs to get my yard done, this mower and our effort pays for itself in 10 uses. I had a great landscaper for like 15yrs, but he had a hard time keeping help and we were a drive for him. The next guy my wife found did such a bad job we parted ways after 2 times. The final crew was some young local guys my neighbor uses, but they couldn't show up even a week late on the 2nd mowing.

I too have a EGO can do 9/10's of the yard before the battery dies when the grass is heavy, It's 3 years old and on it's second battery(1st one was warrantied) when this one dies I'm going back to gas, just not happy with the cut or the clumping if the grass is the least bit damp.
I blame it on blade speed not being fast enough.
