I just posted a video of a repair I made on the “sensory signalling mechanism” (aka Clicker) on a Sturtevant Richmont flat beam torque wrench.

I couldn’t find anything on how this works, so after figuring it out during my repair, I made this video showing how the clicker on the beam style torque wrench works in an attempt to help others fix theirs. Mine was full of gunk and corrosion. Nothing kroil, a bore brush, and lots of cleaning can’t fix. I oiled the mechanism with Hoppe’s gun oil during reassembly.

Sturtevant Richmont Is a Snap-On corporation and this torque wrench now sells for over $800 new, but you can get them used for well under $100 on eBay.

Great video Shadow, on a classic vintage American made tool that built our world. Not a lot of information on this particular style and I have been doing some research trying to learn more. Located a 300inlb and a 1200inlb standard wrench that had not seen any attention in decades. Quick-Glo worked well especially on the scales. I was hesitant at first hoping the polish would not damage the paint. Worked great. I don't get to use them as often as I would like to. BTW, anyone know where to obtain the tiny rivets that hold the scales on? I have a loose one on the 1200. Thanks again.

Are those drive screws? You usually need to buy a box of them. I don’t know that your local Ace will have them
