Is this an older Lixie Bronze Hammer?

Picked this hammer up over the weekend. The handle looks like a Lixie. It weighs 2lb 2.5 oz. Nothing cast in the head and there is little bit of faint color on the handle but not enough to tell what it was. Thoughts? Thanks!

It looks like brass. I can say the early bronze ship's bell I have is even lighter toned than the hammer.
-There's several flavors of bronze alloys, all of them I've seen (many) over decades in machine shops are a shade of gold/yellow/brown or anything in between. By your description it probably is a bronze or brass alloy. You saying it's darker than "naval brass" does lend weight to it being bronze. It also resembles the Lixi pattern for the head, beyond that is me speculating. Congratulations on the acquistition.
