Looking forward to the results of your lighting choice. That’s something I’d like to improve on in my garage.
September 14 - I picked up a small Rheem 20 gallon water heater and also the sink I ordered came it. This will be more than enough for my needs.
My sink also came in the before. I bought a Trinity 30" x 14" stainless steel sink, model CTHA-0323. At $369, Costco had the best price for this one by $200+ if I remember correctly, and free shipping. I don't have a membership as the nearest store is about 120 miles away, but I learned that you can still make purchases for a 5% fee. Still a good deal. Hopefully we get a store at some point!
None of this stuff will be installed until insulation and flooring are tackled.

September 18-20 - All of the lights have been mounted. For now, just the first two rows are wired up, as I'll need more electrical work at the rear of the building for an office that I plan to build later. Even without the last row, these lights are super bright! After being in the shop for a while and returning to the house, my eyes need a little time to readjust to dimmer warm lighting. If you get these, I highly recommend putting them on dimmer switches.
Time to connect the water to the shop, and tie in to the septic. Digging up the capped ends.

This line ties into the water line supplying water to the water heater. It was wrapped in insulation before backfilling. They added a shutoff valve just in case
Unfortunately accessing the water heater meant cutting some drywall. The cut drywall was replaced, but I'll have to make it pretty at some point.

I decided to buy a 6-foot scaffold for some work I'll be dong in and around the shop later. I was shocked that it actually fit in my Honda Element with the front and rear passenger seats folded. I did measure ahead of time, though (didn't want to be THAT customer). This car has a surprising amount of space.

Sorry, I got busy with life and didn't get to continue posting the shop progress, but getting back on it now.
October 2-8 - Sectional Doors
Originally, these were scheduled to be installed the previous week, but the company I hired had to reschedule. Originally what was planned for a 1-2 day installation became more like 4 days. Nice guys, but they were not very interested in working. Between a broken welder, very long lunch breaks, and not having the right equipment, this job took much longer than expected. I also had to get a remote reprogrammed. In the end, the work was completed and the company did make things somewhat right in the end (after some complaining), but this part left me a little annoyed.
