I 3D printed this placard for my portable bandsaw stand. The gray background consists of actual metal filings created by the saw that were super glued to the back before adding a couple layers of clear coat so it didn't rust. I don't do this sort of thing with all my tools, only when I feel inspired.

Nah. Just have some Old License Plates hung up from my old cars... A few signs... I dont have a lot of free wall spae or room to put stuff up. I mean I could but they would be blocked

I am not much of an artist, so no. I have some old license plates hung up, some classic car pictures out of old calendars, a few tin signs, a few clocks, a bunch of stickers on my 2 toolboxes, a 69 Mustang sign I made & a garage sign I had made up.

I have always hated the options for wall receptacle plates. When I built my second garage last year I was looking for something different. I found a place in California called Art Plates https://www.artplates.com/?srsltid=AfmBOopnUQw4F1Y4zKL-JIqMRd351wYLAJudO0pnPVPHYUDLeANUM7F8 . They lay a graphic over USA made plates. There are 100's of choices. I like this Japanese artist so I got plates with his art and they are not very expensive at all. I have one style on the walls and another on the ceiling. There are a wide variety of styles to choose from.

-I don't have any other photos, i made that before I started doing the "build-blog" thing.

Short version, I'd lucked into a decent anvil back around 2007, and started trying to collect some tools to go with it. I found this heavily abused mini-sledge in a secondhand store for like $2 (the "before" pic of course ) and figured I'd clean it up. I didn't have a belt grinder, but I did have a milling machine.

I didn't set out to make an "art piece", but the alloy steel produced such an amazing finish just right out of the machine, I spent a little extra time doing a little extra just for decoration, then draw-filed and sanded it even smoother.

The handle is just an off-the-shelf hickory replacement from the local hardware store, shortened about 4", and glued in place with JB Weld before seating the wedges.

After the adhesive cured, I milled off the remainder of the wedges, draw-filed the top smooth again, sealed the end grain with superglue, and then stained and sealed the rest of the handle. I finished it off by bluing it with some off-the-shelf Casey's gun blue, then oiled it.

.... And then I realized i didn't want to actually use it.

I did use it briefly on a couple small jobs, but yeah, it's more wall-hanger than workin' hammer.

I purchased a 2X rivet gun for my wife to use when riveting skins on the airplane, as it's easier to control and more forgiving with the small rivets and thin skins. I painted it turquoise for her...

Other than that, no. I painted a few tools bright orange but that's just so they'd be easier to see.

Been kicking around some ideas for my mezzanine floor. I am thinking this is the direction I’ll be going. This test piece has started me thinking about other items I could incorporate.

My shop walls from 8’-14’ have hog panel hung giving me spots to hang, flags, signs, lights etc.

I have a roll of stickers of my logo, those usually get put on larger items I bring into the shop

The Powerlifting banner made me think of my former coworker and friend who passed away in April. He was in the inaugural class for the California Powerlifting Hall of Fame and, as I recall, is also in the USA Hall of Fame.
