Dewalt flex volt 60

I have a 60volt dewalt battery. When i got it, te battery test ligh wouldn't even light up or take a charge on the charger. Charger also wouldn't light up with it on. I did the battery jump and got it to atleast now have a single light on but the charger still wont recognize it. I didnt leave the 2 batterys connected very long but tried it a couple times. Do I need to let them sit connected longer or is the battery probably junk

yeah, you should jump it longer, but be warned that these systems use a cell balance analyzer inside and if you have a crappy cell or series, that pack will get rejected, always. it would be smart to open the pack and do some testing but I am smelling that is outside your scope.

Cells that drop below min voltage are typically permanently damaged.

The 60volt still will not charge. I tried a normal 20volt on the charger and It started charging right away. Im going to let the 20volt get a full charge and try again tommorow. Or do I need to try thr jump with another 60volt?

I think you are already in dark territory, not knowing what you are doing. You should probably stop before learn about Lithium sizzle.

Maybe crack it open and see if one of the cells is way off? If it is, might try using an adjustable DC charger to get those cells back towards the same voltage (and maybe see if the BMS need resetting?).

Jump it a little at a time. I appreciate just waiting longer might work, but it might also catch fire. When I've jumped a pack that won't charge it typically only takes a brief jump, then straight onto the charger. You're only trying to get the voltage up so the charger will think it's regular-dead.

Given that it didn't work, I suspect it's actually defective. Careful not to ruin your good battery by over-discharging or over-heating it too. Why not at least check the voltage with a multimeter?
