At 6’6” Bart from Poland is certainly the tallest lodger I have had.
Weirdly, he chose the cabin to stay in the last three weeks and has commented that he has not slept this well in years.
He has also connected with George, which I love. Some lodgers do not like animals and you can see it in Georges behaviour.
With Bart, he plays, a lot, allows himself to be picked up and fussed over.
Of course George is also great therapy for Bart.

That is the best reason!
May not be rich enough for all of you guys on here.
Bought it about 3 years ago.
And it has over 3/4 tank of precious DIESEL At 50-65 mpg you can go for days
I am still driving it till Saturday when new incoming car is getting collected.
HERE’s a video I prepared this morning showing the warts and *************.

I have also given it a hot sponge bath today
So it looks a lot better than the video.

MOT to end of October. Check history. No reason for it not to continue its good behaviour.
It has an intermittent glitch which has the dash display turning itself off.
One of you guys will probably fix it in 30 seconds, But I am not that guy.
I have lived with it the last 6-10 months and if I need a speedo display, I just turn on Waze or a satnav.
It’s got some battle scars shown in the video, on the passenger side. I never see the actual damage when I get in
Nearest station is Rochester or Strood in Kent if you need picking up.
Or collect at St Mary Hoo near Rochester
Messenger if interested in buying it for £450.00

at that price for a decent working car , it is not surprising that it sold so fast.
Sometimes the reward lies in the ability to share the joy.
Buyer said to me, in no uncertain terms that it would make £700 easily. From the right buyer.
I know this.
But it has served me so well and putting it back into the community where I have bought four vehicles from, makes much more sense.
The replacement is costing me £230.00 just to change
And it has double the mileage and parts that currently don’t work. It’s also the same age as the Scenic.

I am sure you will resurrect this new baby as you have done so many times before.
You remind of the Derek Bieri of the roadworthy rescues tv show. May be you should start the UK version of this show -after all the US top gear is based on the UK top gear, why not turn the tables?

Thanks for your belief in my abilities or at least entertainment value.
Those YouTube shows take a shitload of work.
But I also think the format is changing faster and faster, as peoples concentration spans reduce daily.
New 21 year old car:
Much less powerful than Scenic
Odometer at 142k vs 71k miles
But….. ULEZ exempt it seems.
Eventually the welding in the rear bed did come to an end.
I strengthened the rear seam with 20mm wide 3mm thick flat bar welded in.
Then various levels and layers of refining, protecting and ultimately paint and white stone chip.

Very impressive transformation. Also a running car for that price is outstanding, we can barely get a running car for $2,000 and even then it is very rough and high miles.

Great job Rian, in all honesty and no bs, the transformation from a toad to a prince is simply astonishing. Well done.
Autoshite.com is where four of my cars have come from or returned to.
Mostly cars that are perfectly serviceable, but unpopular for various reasons.
Recently a Mercedes Benz SL convertible sold for under £500.00 with a working roof.
Guys give away cars, rather than take £200 or $260 for scrap in order to see them live on.
There’s a Toyota Avensis 1.8 petrol currently for £450 or insulting offer.

It is cosmetically challenged.
Also, geographically remote.
Some cars just go into freefall.
There are another two Renault Scenics for sale on the site, both cheap, one possibly better than mine was, but not selling.
Pricing and reputation helps, as well as location.
Most Brits are lazy to travel and collect.
I will fetch a car 600 miles away and drive it straight home.

Got a message from him when he got home: Terrible traffic but car Faultless (apart from the dash)

Checking with the seller that collection for 09.00 still suited her, this was the response:
I’ve used the car a couple times locally this week. All fine. But unfortunately have now checked battery with Ellis and it seems to have lost some charge.
Sadly must mean that our quick fixguess earlier that parasitic drain was central door locking (fuse 11) didn’t solve it. Frustrating! It looks like it takes about a week to completely drain battery, so not a major overnight drain. I’ll trickle charge the battery overnight so it should easily make it back to Kent…especially on a motorway drive. Are you ok with that?

Have one on the Oldsmobile and it seems to work well.
