I have been carrying this pretty often since I got it a couple months ago. The algorithm knows I like orange, I guess. Does anyone know if Case started laser etching their blade marks? Or do I have a fake? I did get the knife, via the auction site, from a seemingly reputable knife shop.

it’s a work day so you know it’s gonna be the 6n1 Fastback. Bought the round tip carton blades by accident a while back but I actually kinda like em.

Gearing up for a 3 day weekend up north so maybe I’ll take some more fun blades with me for that.

I carried this one over to where I could take a picture of it. I carried it in my pocket...once. It's too big for an EDC. The one handed opening is pretty neat though.

I don't see many people here on this thread carrying a fixed blade holstered knife like a Mora.

I gather they are the default pocket knife in Sweden, where workmen's trousers will have a loop for attaching the holster, and a long pocket for a folding ruler. In my own country although they are legal to carry with good reason (i.e. for an activity, or travelling directly to/from that activity), I think most people would be alarmed seeing a large (91mm / 3.5" blade) fixed knife in someone's hand or laid down.

Personally the thing I'm less comfortable about is having it held in a sheath simply by friction so it could conceivably be knocked out.

I fully agree with you and I think you are being prudent and wise. The citizens have good reason to be alarmed.

I am all for, and fully support, responsible adults of sound mind being permitted to carry as they please. That said, the KNIFE CRIME in western Europe and United Kingdom has gotten completely out of hand over the past 10 years or so.

Hardly a day goes by where I do not read about / see crime video of a stabbing in France, Germany, U.K., Belgium, etc…

That wasn't the sense I meant. Just that it's a big knife. It's just surprising and unusual, even if you know the person with it, or if you clearly see what they're using it for. They'd just ask damn, wtf you doing with that knife.

It's why I got the service knife, 43mm (1.7") blade. It's not replaced my folding pocket knife though, I'm just too used to that.

Bit less versatile but enough, won't alarm anyone, no need to think about whether I'm allowed to have it on me or in my vehicle in any given circumstance.

Beautiful choice, and Swedish steel + metallurgy is some of the finest in the world, by technical specification.

I appreciated @YesIHaveAHammer ’s post because it demonstrated self awareness in the form of what is socially acceptable and legal to carry.

Pull a 3.5” fixed blade knife out in a Western European city these days and you are liable to get shot and killed. Or have the police called on you and then need to explain yourself.

In Europe, you often need to demonstrate justification as for why you have a knife and self defense is not a legitimate reason as it is in the U.S., in many states.

Since we have members who post from Europe and the U.S., it’s important to acknowledge what works in small town, rural areas in the states won’t fly in European cities.

It is worth discussing what is practical to carry on a job site in the country where one is working.

Both the socially acceptable and legal aspect factors into this.

Simple as that.

In fact, it will likely help other members avoid trouble and to think about what they are carrying.

If I were to carry a knife with a pocket clip, this would be the one. Buck 112 Slim. It's not too big, decent blade, and the deep carry clip is nice. I did carry it for probably a week and liked it, but I could never love it.

-Not just Sweden, but Scandinavia as a whole. Mostly correct on both accounts. As my pants in my picture demonstrated.

-Mine gets used for work. Lots of people here carry guns and knives of all sorts. Not a concern in my environment.

-I'm guessing you have limited experience with the Pro S. The holster is fastened and the knife is retained very well. Someone isn't going to knock it out. Again, no concern.

I continue to be the antithesis of Garage Journal as I have one knife: a Buck 110 with the stainless blade. I feel bad for it because it's made for dressing game, but I just use it for opening packages, cutting rope, marking wood, and other daily tasks. Only time it sees flesh is on myself when I'm digging out a splinter.

Well, I played the game of swapping out my EDC every couple of days and now I'm done. When I need my knife, I need it now and open. When I want to close it, I don't need to figure out which lock style it has. I found myself constantly fumbling around with different opening and closing styles.

Back to the trusty old Benchmade--which I now need to reteach my right had to use.

When my now 16 year old was four, he was a huge Dukes of Hazard fan and of course, noticed everything including the fact the Bo and Luke carried 110's on their belt. He and his mom were in a sporting goods store when he saw a 110 and he convinced the wife to get me my own for Christmas. I had to wear that thing around for several weeks to keep from disappointing him but I had a hard time keeping my britches up due to the weight. It's in my sock drawer and I'll have it as long as I live.

That leads me to today's knife: A Buck 110 Slim. It's too big for an EDC for me but I can make it work in my back pocket when working around home.
