I see that knock offs for the 2967-20 high torque impact wrench are on Temu. They were selling brand new for about $200, when at HD they are $300. So an obvious fake. Tried to find photos of the knock offs on Temu but all I can find are the stock photos of the legit thing. Anyone have a confirmed knock off of this tool who can post pictures of it, or can find pictures of fakes of this tool?

Thanks! I see new ones on eBay for like $250 ish and used ones go for about $200. Want to make sure I wouldn't be getting a fake if I were to get one from there. Trying to know what to look out for, but cannot find any photos of fakes.

I'm not as worried about a fake power tool as I am a fake battery (you know, because they can explode or burn down your house)...

But I still buy everything directly from HD. I'm not wasting my money on counterfeit tools and helping to support criminal enterprises.

Crazy thing is the fakes aren't even *that much* cheaper. For the OP's example, you can probably hang tight for a kit or 5.0 battery promo for the same price.

DeWalt (for example) has some form of free batteries or buy the battery/charger kit and get free bare tools running all the time at Farm & Fleet (where I typically shop).

Buy it from Temu, question it's authenticity and then start another "is this legit?" thread here.

We have not had one in a few weeks.
Kind of like when you buy cheap hard drives off amazon and then can't register them? Then come here and ***** about it even though if registering them was a priority you could have just bought new from an authorized dealer. But then you would have to pay full retail price. Then file a claim and proclaim a victory because amazon refunds you. Even though they were marked as new old stock and you knew you were buying at a discount price? Oh, and knew that they were discontinued 4 years ago. Sort of like those kind of threads?

If you want a Rolls Royce, buy one. If you don't want to pay for one or can't afford one, buy something else.

Ironically, always looking for the lowest-ball price for pricey goods/high quality, forces overall prices down, but also drives profits down and can force them to make the item cheaper, or maybe suffer financial problems forcing "outsourcing" or maybe going out of business altogether.

To be precise, these are fakes (or a counterfeit) - not knock-offs.

They're trying to fool people into thinking it's the real thing. A knock-off would be inspired, similar in concept, but clearly not genuine (e.g. it would have a different brand name).

I like a good deal as much as anyone, but if I'm knowingly buying something for a deal I'm not getting upset if it's not the same as a full price new one. I've bought a cheap M18 compatible hot glue gun from amazon, it's not advertised and I know it's not milwaukee. It's cheap and works with my m18 batteries and worked good. Also bought a M18 compatible suction cup/******** for tile jobs. I fully understand what they are and I'm not going to be pissed off if they break because they aren't name brand quality tools. Things I use a lot like impacts, I'm not risking getting a fake buying from an unknown source and expecting it to be real milwaukee stuff. I'll gamble on some things that I won't use often. And if I find a good deal on a milwaukee tool that they haven't made in 4 years I'm not going to try and register it or try to get my money back when I find out I can't register it. I still can't comprehend how anyone would expect that when they knew they were buying discontinued items but wanted to save a few bucks.

Right, and in my opinion this is a simple decision. Either buy from an authorized dealer for the retail price and know what you are getting, or gamble in order to save a couple bucks. With all the deals milwaukee has all the time I wouldn't even think of taking a chance buying from an unauthorized place just to save a few bucks. If I want to save a few bucks I'll just buy the harbor freight or ryobi version.

My main concern really is that because there are no known fakes and pictures of these fakes for this exact tool, but that there are clearly fakes on the market, because they are being sold brand new on Temu at 33 % off - The fakes are really REALLY good for this tool, and we cannot differentiate the genuine ones from the fake ones. So kind of a bit worried about buying a used one off of the old fee bay.
And then there's Tik Tok.

Thanks. It looks like that was for a different impact. Any idea of fakes for the 2967-20 specifically?
HD has these on sale about once a week. Just keep checking the daily deals and buy a real one there.
I have been checking for months. I have you ever seen sales on this particular impact wrench? I haven't. If you have, what time of the year does it normally go on sale? I've been checking 4th of July, Father's Day, New Years, Labor Day...
Buy from a supported retailer for warranty support.
Is there a list of supported resellers or retailers? I've been watching HD for sales. Maybe I should start looking out for other retailers to have a sale on it.

A few times Ace hardware has had some really good sales, but it's been awhile. Really I stopped watching for them. And I bought a bunch of Milwaukee stuff from there. Got at my local Ace.

You've got about six hours to take advantage of the sale. And you get a free $100 battery as well. Why to people spend a dollar to save a nickel. Never understood that point of view.

Old geezer here and could someone explain in simple language more about temu to me because I don't get smart out of it. I go to their website, and some spinning wheel starts turning and it tells me to spin it for a prize, so I hit spin and off it goes. it stops and says spin again and bing, bam, boom, old woody hits its big time, I mean the whole nine yards, the big enchilada and it is free for the taking, but then I have no clue how to claim my free tool.

I figured since every time I spin the wheel, I win the free expensive tools, that I better visit Las Vegas and start playing their games of chance, so is this temu legit or just some con game?

I figured it must not be a legit or am I so clueless that everything on that sight is pure junk and they are waiting for suckers to buy that ****. Heck I never had that kind of luck in any games of chance in my entire life.

Sigh me confused enlighten me more about temu.:confused::confused:

This is really a simple thing. According to google AI temu is NOT a milwaukee authorized dealer. If you want to order from them to save 30% then you are gambling. If you want to be sure you aren't getting a fake order from an authorized dealer. The choice is up to you, but if you make the choice to gamble at temu just to save a few bucks then you can't really be upset if you get a fake. You know you are gambling when you order. Temu is for ordering cheap stuff.

Do you buy your meat from some guy selling out of his trunk in a parking lot just to save a few bucks?

Temu is basically an Amazon like website and app from China, but one which mostly sells Chinese goods, or goods from Chinese companies.
It is designed as a discount retailer.
If I recall correctly, they make enough money yo have paid for a Superbowl ad.
The goods they sell are shipped from China, using the postal agreement that allows fairly cheap shipping from “developing” countries.
Most of the items were charged no import duties due to low cost.
I forget how the US changed shipping regulations to try to curb the influence of Temu, and similar retailers.
The EU just added a standardized fee for all packages to cover extra customs costs and to cause the shipping price to go up.

The spin wheel discount thing is seen on numerous websites, including Eastwood, and while I don’t mind discounts, the extra pop-ups are annoying.

I’ve purchased great stuff from them for cheap and junk for cheap. Really have to watch bait and switch

Milwaukee from Temu?

Why would someone sell a good Milwaukee cordless tool on eBay that is not stolen? :dunno:

Don’t people generally keep cordless tools until they are starting to wear out or worn out?

Uh that's not how eBay works.

People come into items and would rather sell them, including tools, for thousands of reasons.

I would wager that individuals selling their own used property do not make up the majority of for sale items

Plenty of reasons.
Industrial closeouts.
Business liquidation, either a retailer of the item, or a business that used that tool, snd bought extras to avoid downtime and extra costs waiting for delivery, or having to send someone to the store to pick one up.
A business stocked an item, then a new updated item came out, so the business clearanced the new but now “outdated” stock.
Etc.

Can someone provide a link to the Milwaukee power tool on Temu, I’ve never seen one. I’ve been generally pleased with Temu. I see no evidence of illegal activity. Then again, I have never seen a counterfeit Milwaukee power tool. Are there court cases or anything? Batteries I’ve seen, but not from Temu.
