Since there is not much information available online, I thought I’d start a thread and contribute a couple of pictures of my, family owned, Dad was the original purchaser, Saltus vise grips. These have been put through the paces over the years, and retirement of this pair of vise grips is close. So before at some point the inevitable happens, I gave them a quick wipe down & took some pictures.

And yes, they are/ were still used.

If you have Saltus tools, preferably besides the “Saltus wrenches” - but feel free to post these as well, please share pictures. Thank you!

Kind regards,
Olli

Here's a Saltus wrench that is not a saltus wrench. :) Please excuse the other two - I'm using an old photo of 2021 flea market finds. It's the only Saltus-branded tool of any kind that I have ever seen in the wild and it's very well made.

I see Snap-On, Stanley, and a tape measure in inches...you're living an American life in Germany! Where on the tool brand hierarchy does Saltus land? Those are some massiv vise-grips!

Saltus made quality tools like so many others in that region, somehow they couldn’t hang on. The overall quality for everyday commercial use was definitely there.

Stanley is a widely available brand here. Snap-On was there to deliver when others failed me & never disappointed. I have two of those combo tape measures because I have conversed and still converse a lot with you guys over the big pond, and it makes it a lot easier for me to visualize measurements. And in a case like that post, I don’t need to convert/ post measurements - picture says it all. :)

Kind regards,
Olli

Saltus 1/4" DK-0 torque wrench I picked up recently with a fancy cursive logo.
You have to unscrew the end and use an allen key to set the torque.
It's marked 11/74 on the back, so maybe a date.
