So I went on a big road trip 2 weeks ago. Shreveport Louisiana area to Loyal Wisconsin area for a big family reunion. Plus antique sales, breweries and garage sales. And hiking! So I went to the Point Brewery in Stevens Point Wisconsin with a little side trip to the Antique Up store close by. Scored a Craftsman Electric Motor Oil tin can and Sears Roebuck small vacuum jug, both keepers for my collections. $19.99 with tax!

Ah, the Point Brewery. I lived in Point in the early 1970s and remember going to the back door of the brewery to get another half barrel late at night when a party was running dry. And the excitement when the season's bock beer was first available on tap in late winter/early spring. Back before microbreweries, when the beer choices were much more limited than today.

We headed to Gardnerville yesterday to check out a promising looking estate sale. Apparently it was the second weekend of the sale. I can’t imagine what it looked like the previous week. We came home with this haul.

It turned out that the same estate sale company was having another sale in nearby Minden, NV. We found a few more tools. The Mag light was the LED version. 
The S-K 3/8” drive deep socket set was metric.
The Channellock tools cleaned up pretty well.
We checked out one last sale in S Lake Tahoe on our way home and picked up a DeWalt orbital sander.

Over the last week I made a few stops, found a few things.
on Wednesday, due to the heat and smoky air, I went over to the coast for the day, and in the process hit a couple restores. A 1"-8 tap, Toyota, Renault, Herbrand, and Blue Points wrenches, Starrett blades, and Bondhus long ball drivers. $15
Friday I hit a farm sale, and after doing some digging, found a few machinist tools. Yuasa dial indicator (with case and attachments) and magnetic base, Johnson metric/imperial tri-square, Craftsman wire gauge and gummed up dial indicator (lens was also in the box, gonna try and see if I can get it working right), and Starrett thread gauge.
And yesterday, Saturday, I found some guy on FBM offering all of these tools for $10. And after getting rid of the junk, this is what I am left with
China anvil, Millers Falls push drill, various unused hammer handles, wrenches (Hinsdale, Vlcheck, etc.) a full set of E. Edelman wrenches in bag, putty knife, Goodell Pratt glass cutter. And an old electric soldering iron.

Today I went to day 2 of the estate sale I skipped yesterday. Got right in at the start. Not a lot but did manage a few goodies. $15 got me this stuff.

My favorite of the day was a Stocker & Yale lite mite with a mint magnifier, no scratches! The PO had mounted it to, what looks like a machine attachment.

I, too, would have snatched that can of white lithium grease immediately haha. I'd consider it a spare and re-lube all my friction slides as soon as I'd get home. Here's a haul of everything I got from my first ever estate sale visit, earlier this year. The first pic is the only one I took at the event, which shows the line for the garage. The rest of the pics are from after I got home.
1970's Craftsman triple stack. Sticky note said "Toolbox $120". I could flip the middle box alone for that, maybe more if restored. But I'm keeping it.
The previous owner rigged up this side locker to store his S&G slide hammer set, plus a chrome'd OTC pry bar. At the sale, I had to yank the whole stack out from it's cluttered spot on the wall just to be able to look inside the locker. I doubt the selling company even looked in it.
All of the tools inside the drawers were removed prior to the sale and laid out on a table to be sold individually. Some of which I also bought (more pics below). The garage at this sale was quite dark inside, even at peak daylight. So I think the sellers must have overlooked this well-fitting S-K box hidden under the top lid when they were emptying it.
All 1/4" drive consisting of S-K, MAC, Snap-on, and PROTO.
The other tools I bought off the tables:
They gave me a good bulk deal on these Craftsmans.
Snap-on and MAC tools.
And finally these Craftsmans.
Total spent at the sale was $275.

Another one from earlier this year. This KRA545 was part of a $60 FB marketplace buy that included a rusted-through Remline top box and lots of misc. tools.
Before, in the condition I bought it in.
After a sponge bath bath + 1 coat of rubbing compound.
And finally, new casters.
Great little box. Currently stores all my air tools.

One pick up yesterday . The seller advertised this on FBMP and it was close by ,so after a few volleys back and forth I drove a couple miles. I was trying to get the seller to say whether it was a 12 inch deep or a 16/18 inch deep box ,she had responded with the drawers are about 2 inches deep. The other good news is between questions the keys were found which made it an even better purchase.

A neighbor put a table of stuff out by the curb and I picked up some books and these drill bits. Picture is after I threw out the really badly rusted or worn bits and had already sorted out a bunch of 1/4" and other sizes missing from one of my sets. There were over 50 bits to begin with. The ones that I kept were mostly unused and marked TRW made in USA. And it was all free.

Here is my haul from several sales this weekend. First was a handyman tool sale, from a guy moving overseas. He did not post the address, you had to call to get it. It was on a boat in the harbor. A smallish sailboat. Looking at his ad, I saw I had most of the power tools he listed. Went hoping to see hand tools, and general supplies. Expected a crowd to be there, walked past the boat and was standing at the end of the dock, looking lost, when a guy came out from a boat I walked past, asking if I was looking for the tool sale. Went back to the boat with him, and looked at the totes of tools and supplies, hoping to find something I needed. The power tools still unpurchased were ones I did not need. The box of hand tools were all rusty, except for the three I grabbed. Poking around in the box of supplies, found some abrasives I could use. Not a great price, but mostly new stuff. PSA: Kind of unnerving to be standing on a moving dock, looking into boxes on a moving boat. Or be standing on the moving boat, and someone else shifts to your side of the boat, and your leaning forward is now VERY forward.
The next stops were at a neighborhood wide sale. Only a few advertised on CL, only a still fewer portion had pix.
. Saw one ad showing a bunch of nice ¿collectible? planes. So he was my first stop. The Stanley 607 was already gone, but a few other interesting planes. I settled on an E. Hahn plane (soon to be posted in the handplane thread, after I get some work done), had never heard of that maker. Interesting adjustment I had never seen before. Grabbed it for a reasonable price, then ran off to other stops. This was a tiny neighborhood, tight streets, no parking, people walking everywhere without looking. We found a tolerable parking spot, and walked to a small percentage of the sales. Found a box of Hitachi 21⁰ nails, that will fit my Metabo HPT nailer. Got them for free with the purchase of two Squirrel Nut Zipper CD, guy was impressed I knew of the band. We grabbed a few other items as well, not shown.

Not a yard or garage sale, but a walk-in. A gal came into the pub asking if anyone wanted most of a gallon of Coleman fuel. One of the bartenders sought me out and I got it!
The gal was flying home and couldn't take it. She said she did this regularly and often had trouble finding anyone willing to take her left-over fuel. I told her that she was welcome to a few tankfuls if she was ever in the area again.

Hit a moving sale later in the day, so much I would have liked but I didn't quite have space for. Most of the vintage stuff was cleared out earlier alongside his nice big Snap-on boxes.

Anywho, Proto 252-A hose pliers and a 3/4 combo because I'm a big spender. They're headed to the soup.

The Alky came with a box, and I'm showing my old one (frozen valve that is resisting - going to try freezing with some duster spray next)
A PS & W (Peck Stowe & Wilcox - AKA PEXTO) monkey wrench with a 1896 patent date also gifted to me f - Thanks again Dixon!:
And I bought the main valve body (mine had a busted pricker lever, used my PU tube) and pump stem (I forgot my NOS one at home...) from Cody to get the "Milspec" 242C operational for the lightup on Sat.. (Thanks Cody!) It still needs a bail which I plan to make:
And I'm planning this 2 piece AGM vent (Eprey - needs work) for this as well, so Milspec fount and funnel 242 C burner, A new mica globe, and an AGM vent:

Drill rod, still a good thing to have in all sizes. Beats using the chewed up ends of your working drills as sizing tools.
More stuff ftom the Lewis Auto Swap meet, this vendor had everything half off, $34 total. The wheelbarrow came in handy for hauling goodies! The empty Craftsman 1/2" box I already filled with V and VV tools from my stash.

Now I have wheel envy. That big front wheel would really help on uneven ground--like the kind I usually run wheelbarrows over.
Not sure about the narrow bit--the uneven ground is also often soft and/or loose.

While out and about today, I had time to swing threw a Restore
Goodell Pratt scraper, Orchard Park era nut drivers (3/16, 11/32, 3/8), Walden and Herbrand sockets, and a vintage lathe oil dauber.
All of that just under $4.

Yes he does!
Solo run to Leesport Farmers Market this morning. $10 procured a Botnik pliers, Ray double-end socket, VacuumGrip linemens, Utica pliers, Crescent slipjoints, Imperial RI two-blade knife, Vaughan&Bushnell claw hammer, Bonney 826, Bonney 27F, and a Mossberg 244.
Leftbehinds included a Bonney double-ended pipe wrench with three threading holes, three unused hickory hafts (2 hatchet, 1 machinist), and this fun claw hammer, which had lost the rubber part of its grip.
I couldn’t make out the brand.
I already have several Bonney wrenches similar to the leftbehind. The seller wanted $10 for that and $5/ea or $10/3 for the hafts. $20 isn’t too much, really, but more than I wanted to pay early on, and I didn’t feel like looping back later. I also left behind a cleverly-repaired 14” B&C S-adjustable for $2. I don’t collect B&C.
