^ Thanks. No need. All the tools with a "41-W-2649-" FSN in my references have square service openings. None of them have a -475 suffix, though. They have suffices in the -1xx and -2xx range, so I was postulating that yours, with a higher suffix, was the same but with a bigger square service opening. Obviously not the case if it has a hex service opening.

In the seemingly never-ending cleanout of my parents house I came across this little guy last weekend. A Hercules 3012 that I thought was too short to be a 41-S-1063 until I saw the USAAF scribed into the end. The blade is a little over 1-3/8".
