Updated lawn pictures after the spring 2026 curbing and ornamental rock project and after the lawn has filled in around the curbing in the backyard.

Despite the water restrictions I have been able to keep it relatively green and healthy this year.

Thanks for looking.
The gravel is giving me a tingle in my leg. 😉

Ive tried and tried to get grass to grow as pretty as yours.

Too much shade in my yard, I think the only way id get away with it would he to have topsoil brought in, add a sprinkler system and lay sod on .5 an acre and hope....

Grass looks awesome! I would never do that unless I could pay someone else to care for it, and didn't care about the water bill.

Thank you. It's definitely not for everyone.

I just love the fact that after a nice snow storm (that I know Mike loves!) my yard looks as nice as his!

So what you're saying Sterling is that white **** is the great equalizer? :dunno:

Watering restrictions? Remember when the Great Salt Lake was overflowing and the Gov installed pumps to send some of it to the west desert.

But there were past watering restrictions one year then the next had plenty of water such that officials had to ask people to stop over watering because they wee flooding neighbors property.

Agreed. I had just graduated High School when we installed those large pumps to pump water out into the West desert. I was very impressed to see where my tax dollars were going, now that I was focused on such things.

They are something to see. We went out a few years ago and climbed around on the discharge tubes now that they're moth balled. Great display of wasteful spending. Ran for one year.

Yall didnt have a dam or floodgate you could open instead of installing pumps?

The Great Salt Lake already occupies the lowest elevation for 100s of miles (it's the remnant of Lake Bonneville). It's an endoheric lake (no natural outflows), so without the pumps there's no way out. The pumps just move the water into evaporation basins in the desert.
