I do the same.Punches and screwdrivers - the sharp pointy end is driven into a wine cork before shipping.
I keep all the corks. Not sure why. I figure somebody will want them for some project at some point.I do the same.

Local small town paper here died about ten years ago. Usual story--bought by a big firm, moved printing to a larger city, stopped covering local news, then just vanished.^^^ Local small town weekly paper has a dumpster out back filled with rejects/blanks. Free for the taking as long as you call ahead.
Last time I bought a paper was for masking off a truck I was painting. My mother subscribes to two local newspapers.
She is single-handedly going to keep the newspaper publishing industry in business.
She saves them all for me so I have a pretty good supply.
If moisture is a concern, those little silicone "don't eat me" packets are pretty cheap too. If someone is selling a lot of items, wrap them up, stick them in a zip lock, and toss one of the packets in before shipping.^ exactly. works great. I just shipped out a set of SAE offset double-end box wrenches, all neatly nested together, individually wrapped and secured with rubber bands.
buyer's feedback:
"Smooth transaction ! World Class Packaging! Fast Shipping ! SUPER Communications! Top Block Stars ! A100+++++++ THANKS!!

I save all of those. If moisture is a concern, those little silicone

I usually see that on resharpened endmills, not new onesWhen I buy end mills they often come coated in some sort of wax or waxy rubber? I don’t think it’s paraffin. Anyone else? Surprised no one mentioned it. Or did I miss it?
Yup. That’s what I linked too. Apparently a common trade name is Seal-PeelYa missed it.
I did this, then taped them to a piece of cardboard, then bubble wrapped that, then put in a bubble wrap envelope.I've had them delivered wrapped up in blue shop towels with the ends folded over and taped.
Of course I save those envelopes, what do you think I am, some kind of psychopath?Don't you save your Amazon padded envelopes?
