The cardboard "flat" from a case of beer cans works very well.

But I prefer to just lay the tools down beside me where I can easily reach out and fumble around trying to find it until I roll over onto it, leaving a ratchet-shaped bruise on my back.

I have the Knipexes the ICON were based on, and have had a similar cheap, un-pretty set of the Pittsburghs for ten years now, and they may not be fine quality tools, but they keep working and being useful in all sorts of odd situations!

Bought these because if I had had them the day before, I might have had a better chance with the annoying fuel filter I had struggled with. By the end of the day I wound up using the ICONs to tug a breather hose off of an intake manifold on another car.

My favorite wife has been complaining for years about how dull her kitchen knives were, and my huge stash of garage sale chisels were probably even duller, so I treated myself to a set of imported sharpeners last month.
Today I realized this catch-all bench might be a more functional and convenient place for all these grinders in one spot rather than hiding in a box on a back shelf.
I spent an evening practicing on her knives with the FMK. The included angle gauge doesn’t seem to make sense to me, even with some Youtoob University, so I winged it for now. She was surprised when slicing tomatoes, so yay! The chisels seem to get sharp but appear coarsely ground. The included manual doesn’t mention stoning the wheel for a finer grind like YouTube does. I did get the add-on kit to sharpen axes and mauls and even scissors, too.
I haven’t lit the Vevor circular saw grinder yet (missing a T nut), but I’m looking forward to trying it out since I have kept twenty years’ worth of dull blades hoping to find someone to sharpen them.

the metallic green grinder in the back is an antique Neilssen chainsaw grinder that I found at a garage sale and rewheeled for my Stihl.

Me too, In HS one time had a ring shaped bruise on my shoulder where I rolled over onto the box end of a 1” combo wrench on the concrete floor of the machine shed laying under a garbage truck. I rolled over hard enough that it was a deep bruise that turned all kinds of pretty colors.

I bought a set of the Pittsburghs to help pull plug wires off of my old ‘95 F150 the back plugs on that 302 were hard to get the wire off of. I’ve used them many times since for various hoses where you can’t get your hand in there to get enough leverage.

Think thin locknuts, flatted shafts that never have flats wide enough for an open-end, etc. I really should get one for use around the shop, but I've already ground down cheap end wrenches to fit the stuff I work on regularly.

I've been eyeing those with great interest too, since I work on bikes a lot. But the more I think about it I don't think they'd be that great for bikes.

First, they're ball-end, and a very deeply-cut ball end at that. I don't think I'd be comfortable breaking fasteners with them. I don't really want to break loose a pedal with a ball-end 8mm, or a rusted rotor with a 5mm.

Second, the handle is just a piece of round rod rather than a hex, and third, it doesn't slide. All the high-end T-handles that I've seen or used (PB Swiss, Beta, Park, Silca) and the Facom which I own have a hex-shaped handle which slides. This is tremendously convenient because you can use the long side for more torque when you need it, and also because you can slide the crosspiece to wherever gives you the best access and leverage. For example when I use my 8mm to remove pedals I slide the crosspiece almost all the way over so there's only a stub sticking out. Hard to describe so I took a couple of pics:

I brought home 6 HF small moving dollies, $7.99 ea. during this weekend sale. I build some 2'x4' 4 shelf storage racks on occasion and might build a set or two for a friend in a couple of weeks. I harvest the Swivel Casters off the dollies and use them on the storage racks or under cabinets or power tools like table saws, hard to beat for only $2/ea. They seem to hold up better than their much more expensive casters. Sorry, no pictures, you know what they look like.

I poked around Amazon Japan this morning and they also make non-ball-end. Prices are scary and I wasn't finding a set, and I found chatter that they don't sell sets of these. This is the homework I did before asking Mr. Tools n Twisties to tell us more!

I'm still happy with my 1990's $12 Chinese flea market T-handles which just keep working. But I got some Tsunoda flush cutters recently that have wowed me (and a friend I egged on to get some) so these Tsunoda T-handles intrigue me.

I'm happy to be in a world with so many cheap dollies available now. The other day, I needed one. A friend wanted to move his heavy massage recliner. He innovated and we just dragged it through the house on a cheap, thin HF mover's blanket.

The CAT website can be a bit of a PITA, so for those interested... Part 194-3584, $57, 10% off you join their rewards club.
I ordered these (plus quite a few other cat tools) a while back. "Satisfied" with SO made, lifetime warranty tools at a fraction of SO pricing would be an understatement.

The closest SO set if you insist on Snap On roll marks instead of CAT is 212EFTXY, $516! but it does include a few more sizes.

I've noticed lately that I feel compelled to take care of the tool-feeble.

When Lowe's was having their zany sale on Wiha screwdriver sets, I got a set for my intelligent, handy elderly lady friend. Later on she expressed her appreciation for it, the ergonomics were so good for her wrists, and one of them was just the right size to pry the lid off of some jar last week. ARRRRGH. But I had to bite my tongue -- she won't be using them for 20 years, and the handles work well for her. No need for a lecture about "screwdrivers that are pry bars and the good set that are not." :)
