Was that pressurized hydraulic fluid that got you? If so, that is really scary. I hope you are all right. No fluid forced through your skin?
Not pressurized like on a piece of equipment but yeah, it had pressure. I'm just glad it hit the cutters first and was only deflection that hit me.

Cut the plywood for the base and had to do some notching for it to fit....unexpectedly.

Then I mounted the brake back on the base.

Somewhere in between, the wife and my Mom stopped out in the garage after a shopping trip. I was finishing up my snack lunch and been surfing the 'net. I also was trying update the garage PC to W11 & it can't support it. So I went on a internet shopping trip myself...

There's a registry hack to allow the Win 11 upgrade on a non-supported Windows 10 machine.

Personally, if it's that old, I'd just buy a new one anyway.
Yeah. I messed around with it for about an hour or so trying to do some other updates. Once I figured out didn't have the right requirements, I said the heck with it.

The new mini showed up this morning and I will try to get it up and running today.

I could use the abrasive chop saw but anymore, I despise using it with the dust it produces.

Honestly, I looked at it yesterday thought to myself I should get rid of it...sell it. However, it's what I use to cut rear at times.

Nice score on the Jet 48" pan brake Eric.

As for the abrasive "chop saw", I concur. I used a 14" chop saw almost exclusively up until about 12 years ago when I bought my first two bandsaws and then I put it on the shelf and I haven't used it since. When I closed my last shop down and moved everything to the new house while the new shop was being built, I almost sold it, but I don't like to sell tools if I don't have to. I did despise that abrasive dust in the shop which is why I no longer use the chop saw.

As I mentioned, I wanted to weld a chain hook on the pallet racking. After the brake stand was done, I move the frame onto the welding table, ground it clean and wiped them down.

A couple of passes with the welder and it's attached. I did hit the hook with the torch to put a little heat in it since it's thicker than the tube.

Wire brushed, wiped down, primer, paint and left to dry over night. Simple project. Done.

So far, the new PC is up and running. The only thing delayed is OneDrive. Once it gets all loaded up, I will tie up all the wiring and switch over to the wireless mouse/keyboard.
Been gone a couple of days. Trying to do a few things in the shop. This new PC has either shut down or lost connection to the monitor 2-3 times. NOT impressed.

Forced a hard restart and finally got it to do a reset...about 4pm it was at 100% downloaded for an auto restart.

55 minutes later, it has restarted but sitting here at 50% reset.

Going on 4 hours of my day wasted with this thing. No, I will not recommend these for anyone to buy.
Wait till next week Eric, the moon will be in a better position.

This past week was a nightmare of computer **** as well for three different systems. Smash was the number one option from Tuesday morning thru 5pm Friday. 😡

Sorry to hear that, completely different experience than mine for sure...hell I'm responding to this thread using mine
I had high hopes...that quickly faded on literally the 2nd day of use.

Its boxed up and I have the QR code for the UPS store drop off. Unfortunately, its going have to wait til Monday, if not Tuesday morning to leave my possession.
