Mr Cool, non DIY 36,000 5th Gen.- Holes in Filters

Anyone ever seen holes in the thin plastic filters? I was checking the filters to see if they needed cleaning and found 3-4 about 1/2” round holes in each filter.

I’ve ordered new ones, but I’d like to know what caused this.

I thought it was mice at first, but after looking closely it looks melted.

Do the fins under these filters get that hot in Heat mode?

Maybe the fumes from polyurea floor epoxy? We just had the garage floor done.

UPDATE- I’ve been running the AC for the past several weeks because it’s close to 100* here and the new filters are still intact. It must have been the paint fumes that melted the holes in the filters.
