So much stuff gets thrown away.

Found a lawnmower with a Briggs and Stratton motor today.
Thrown out because it is missing some nuts and bolts.

How do you mow the lawn, or do any other mechanical tasks and fail to see pieces falling off your tools??

Anyway, I brought home what was left of the mower, loaded it in my wheelbarrow and took it to my work shop.
Also at the same place, I got some garden tools, a kids toy and my favourite thing….. a folding steel ruler dated 1941. Interestingly it was made in Metric and Imperial.

After cleaning the mower, I removed the old fuel, cleaned the air filter and checked the oil.
Amazingly it started on the first pull.

I have given it, and the kids toy to the neighbors who were very pleased.
The daughter was straight onto the little car.


Perfect.

Two observations, the muffler is quite large, we do not get guards on the muffler over here…at least none of my push mowers ever had one, health & safety rules I supose?

just amazing what folks throw out, our old Sears mower still ran great (and I still have it for some reason) but the deck ate itself once the teenagers started mowing our lawn…the religious cleaning effort was no longer happening

I was about to say the same thing. Rabone Chesterman was a Sheffield company where I grew up. Naturally all my early tools were Sheffield made, including my steel rule just like that one.

Went around earlier to supervise Ronnie the neighbor on starting and using it.

Once shr got the hang of the pull start, there was no stopping her.

That is pretty reasonably priced specially considering that it is not only a golf aerial but also it seems from the first photo it might be also useable as golf club !

Those gush darn clever German engineers are the only ones in the world to be able to figure out that sticking a golf club on a car named golf as an antenna, is a great idea !

Bunch of little things.

I guess most exciting was hitting 1000 subscribers after chatting with an American guy living and farming in Romania with his family, who’s YouTube videos I really enjoy. His edits and story telling are what I would love to see on my channel, but of course we all operate differently.

He subscribed from his two accounts and pushed me onto 1000 subscribers after chatting

This morning YouTube notification was first to tell me that I had made 1k subs.

I guess next stop is 2k


Polish lodger, Bart headed out to work in Germany for the week at 6.00am this morning, I was just headed to the bootfair when he pointed out the brake lights were on on the Golf again.

New £6.00 switch ordered and bootfair trip abandoned.


Yesterday morning I helped Ronni the neighbour get her new to her mower started and watched her mow their yard.
She was super pleased with herself.
Ronni has been talking about wanting a small hide away in the bottom corner of her garden.


I took some 9 photo panorama sets.

Bart the lodger got ChatGPT to create a Hobbit house

Way too romantic but a nice exercise and shows it can be done.

Tried twice to upload the various bits that were going to start as a 36 minute video before I got going and edited it down but my internet by Three, ***** so much it wnot even connect with the cloud to just draw it all down.

Currently been chatting with Andy in Tulsa for the last hour.

Obviously my jobs aren’t getting done.
