Last May picked up an early to mids 70s Craftman work bench at an estate sale.
It was a last day of the sale half price impulse grab as the drawers didn't fit right.

Being a GJ member I assumed it'd be an easy fix. I removed the drawers to load it up but it started raining so my help left but I did get it on the truck.
I dropped the bench and bent the door...

This is after spending a "few" minutes straightening the door up.
Left the project for a few months so when I cane back it was like starting over.
After about 10 minutes I realized someone had worked on this before. I figured out that they had put every single slide bracket in backwards.
Turned them around and 4 of the 5 drawers fit as should. The last drawer was bent up which was a clue...straightened it up some with a precision hammer...ok a 2 lb dead blow.
This where I had used the knowledge I got on the streets. In this case Seasme Street as one of these was like the others. There was a replacement bracket which had a 1/2 tab that needed to be bent out flat to correctly locate the rails. Now all drawers close as they should.
The next steps are to rehang the door and begin sourcing a latch and handle. Until them a lanky wire will suffice. Will add casters to the bottom so the bench can be moved out to give access for working from all sides or cleaning.
