Putting up new LED lights.
A few years ago, I bought a 6 pack of 4 foot Barrina LED lights on Amazon.. Within about a year, every one of them was burned out..
Then for Christmas 2024, a buddy of mine bought me a 6 pack of the 8 footers for my new barn.. Now they're all burning out too. Out of the 6 of them, 4 of them only light up on one side. Two light up on both sides, but all lights have about 20% of their leds burned out and dark.
My barn has gone from "Wow, I almost need sun glasses in here", to "all the lights are on and I still need my headlamp to see what I'm doing"
Chinese garbage.
So I did some homework and bought an 8 footer from MaxLite through ProLighting... 11,000+ lumens, color select, power select, 100,000hr life expectancy, and 10 year warranty. They're also $90 each so I bought one to test...
All those positive Barrina reviews on amazon must either be fake, or these people aren't using their lights very often. My best estimate is that Barrina lights only burn for about 300 hours and that's it. Both the 4 footers and the 8 footers burned out in the exact same pattern.. After a couple hundred hours, I noticed some of them were missing an LED emitter or two.. then a month later, most were missing at least five or six.. a couple months after that, most were missing every 5th or 6th emitter and some didn't even light up on one side or the other.
So that's what I did today.. Putting up a new 8 foot LED linear strip light to test it.
