BendPak HD-9XW / 220V wiring and breaker selection

For those with this, or similar 220V, 4 post lift, what route did you take for connecting the motor to 220V power?
Also what type and size of breaker is used?

Thank you for any experienced directions!!

You will need the motor HP from the motor nameplate or specs to determine breaker size.

Personally I would run in conduit to straight overhead, either attach to underside of ceiling or penetrate into the attic, and then back down to your breaker panel. This is general advice and some pics of your situation would help greatly.

Ok thanks. I already have a 220V feed to where the lift is going. It’s ground level.

My lift hasn't found its permanent home as of yet. I made up a few 10' sections of #10 extension cable with Hubble twist-lock connectors. The reason for breaking it into 10' sections is that the wire is heavy and I am old. That was about 10 years ago, and I haven't used my lift in the last 5 or 6 years, and the cords have been wound up and put away. I will eventually have to get them out to raise the lift and get the car off it. Every summer I say that I am going to clean the garage, and I never get around to it. It is connected to a 2-pole 30-amp breaker with a receptacle just to the side of the electrical panel.

If you're using that receptacle, the wire already in the wall is going to dictate the ampacity capability of the circuit. What gauge wire is feeding it? Is it not already connected to a breaker?

I have the panel to wall receptacle already, the rest my electrician has suggested.

Panel → 25A double-pole breaker → 10/2 NMD90 → NEMA L6-30R wall receptacle -> L6-30P plug → 10/3 SOOW flexible cord → BendPak motor.

Which portion of that do you have already? "Panel to wall receptacle" would mean that everything in bold above is already present. Is that the case, or are you ripping out what is already there?

Panel to a blank wall receptacle is in place now as described, NEMA L6-30R wall receptacle -> L6-30P plug → 10/3 SOOW flexible cord → BendPak motor is yet to do. Lift is scheduled Sept 8 for installation.
