This thread got bigger than I expected. The OP is much like me when it comes to wanting the best looking tools that can also do a damn fine job. I searched everything US made but decided against the main Truck brands due to cost. I ended up with Proto as the best looking sockets and a very wide range of offerings along with coupon prices from Zoro. Your socket pictures are clearly painted and some have rust. While I have a few Proto with paint on the inside, almost none have had rust showing unlike.... Armstrong, SK, and Write. The paint works just fine I will say, and the rust will likely never grow to become a problem. The only issue I've had with Proto was the location and size of the detents, which seem to vary sometimes too much. Warranty is okay, yes they are a big company and don't like dealing with small guys but they do. If you can look past USA made then you will find Koken and Nepros more to your liking.
