somebody offered me $250 for the 50lb bottle and i am prob not going to sell it to them just based on the fact that they would try to do that even tho when i said nah im okay he was like ill pay more just tell me. I kinda don't like when people do that right off the bat and try to just take ya when you wouldve done a fair price anyway but now you're like this person is kinda dishonest in how they interact with someone they think they can get one over with.

I sold a jug of R12 to refrigerant finders. They paid shipping, were honest about the weight and paid me promptly. I recommend them. It's otherwise a hassle to sell refrigerants. I'm not sure Ebay allows it and the shipping carriers get fussy about accepting compressed gasses.

I figured the classic car crowd would pay to keep the cars original, guess not.
They will, but the demand for R12 is terrible.

I worked for an HVAC wholesaler for ten years. We had two 30 pound drums of R12 and would weigh the drum when it left and when it came back and sell it for $30 a pound. We might have sold ten pounds in ten years.

So yes we got $30 a pound for it, but it wasn't flying out the door. It was discussed that when we ran out we wouldn't order any more.

Also, I looked and they have 250 thirty pound drums of R22 in stock at just under $800 a drum. There are fly by night web sites selling R22 for $300.

I just (last week) bought two 30lb jugs of R22 for just under $15 a pound. New stuff. And from a distributor, not a streetcorner.
