I think I am pretty well set now on SAE wrenches. I have the drawer in the cart filled up to 7/8”.

I keep the bigger sizes in a different box since I am out of space in the cart and I rarely need stuff that big.

I never looked at Knipex needles in 140mm before. For no good reason I felt it was an in-between size with no role for me. I was wanting to order another set of smaller Hozan needles but didn’t feel like jumping through the hoops at the moment, so figured I would just try the Knipex 140.

Turns out I like them so much I nearly ordered a second set right after they arrived. But I decided to get another 160mm but in VDE. I rarely touch anything live, but Knipex VDE handles are so nice.

it’s been a bit since I picked up new Knipex. Now I’m feeling a binge coming on. Just got a set of the alligators coming tomorrow.

Wolfes metal fabrication shrinking disc and Hikoki 230mm 2000W angle grinder. The shrinking disc manual says that recommended rpm is between 3000-6000 and Max rpm 6500. The Hikoki is rated to 6600 (on paper). I hope under load it drop below 6000. I chose the least powerful and cheapest option, from a reputable brand, I could find.

Picked up a Harbor Freight bodywork stand.

Someone out there might get one with no hardware since mine had two complete sets in the box.

The Gator magnet to hang it on cost as much as the stand did.

Small haul in the mail today. Two spark plug gappers and a pry tool. For some reason all my spark plug gappers disappeared when my son started messing with small engines.

I have a gap gauge too. But every time I replace spark plugs these days they seem spot on the gap specification from the manufacturer insofar as I do not ding them. This seems to be the case with every type and brand that I check. The plugs are cheap enough where I tend to just replace them around recommended intervals so I usually am not cleaning and checking for any gap shift.

If I remember right from when I was a kid around the early 80s, it seems the new plugs were often considerably off recommended gaps for whatever I was working on. I am not sure if that was just how things were at the time and it changed, or I had bad luck with whatever I was doing. But the situation today seems different with every brand coming in spot on.

In any event, it is always good to verify they are set right.

Second Wera chisel driver/Klein reamer, Klein magnetizer/demagnetizer, 6” locking bit extension, 3 sets Klein Koat grips (kind of… 2 1/2, really).

I needed a little longer 2mm to remove a volume knob of an older stereo. Thought about getting a set of T handles but that just takes up too much space and these were $7.49 off Amazon less than what Harbor Freight sold them for.

They seem all right still waiting for the parts so I’m not used it yet

In looking at the reviews for this set, it's hilarious to see how many negative reviews are people who obviously have no idea they're left-handed drill bits, or what left-handed drill bits are for. There's also one goober upset that the stainless fastener he was trying to drill work-hardened and progress stopped. That's... just how drilling stainless with HSS works. You get one shot...

Look, people... this is a cheap set of Chinese-made left-handed drill bits. Even if they're one-time use, that's still pretty useful. Manage your expectations. And oh yeah, maybe try reversing the direction of your drill.

I got my first reversible, corded drill in the mid-90's. At some point after that I had trouble drilling two holes in the floorboard of a friend's VW Jetta. After it was over, I found out why I had to work so hard. I'm surprised it worked at all! Youthful vigor...

They are also changing the design of their mainline red and black screwdrivers to a new style which will also now offer Torx.

I have plenty of Cobras and alike. I thought this style slip-joint looked sort of fun. Somehow it didn't click in my head that this is just the stereotypical slip-joint, only with 9 positions. As such, it’s just as likely to bind up on closing as it is to fall into the groove. I'm not kicking them out, but definitely one-and-done on the alligators for me.

These Mayhew mini prys are unique enough proportions to not be completely redundant to my other sets.

Tsunoda PUN-160TG. Sort of an accident, I didn’t realize that they are flush cutters. That’s ok though they are very nice.. I will go back for the PKN-160TG which is the identical diagonal cutter blade version.

Thanks. I tracked down the boot for the original ratchet in the center. I have needed a few for awhile. Their used to be a Snap On boot for an air ratchet that would fit, but they discontinued both the air ratchet and the boot and the boots are overly pricey on eBay if you can even find the correct part number.
