No reason to rip everything off to fill it in. This will be good enough.

Time to get casters installed on the 27" box. But first, pull the drawers so I can move it.
Nothing like having your drawers akl iver your shop.

If you're wondering why I didn't buy a 42" box or another 27" to create a 54" box, this is the reason.

I have a bandsaw that lives here.. . but another 27" would have been nice. I do need to create something to take up the 6" gap like a shelf or something.

Before the storms rolled in today, I needed to make that old bench disappear. I had no takers in the last 24 hours soooooo. . . . . "Here's Johnny!"






I split the rest of the boards up, loaded them in the bucket and hauled them to the stick pile. A couple squirts of diesel and they were disappearing quickly.

I needed to raise the top up to clear area where the end cabinet hangs on the box. I've had a couple of "still in plastic" clear poplar boards for several years. Since I was cleaning up, it was time for them to get used up.




Currently the top is fastened to the boards, I added a small backstop and it's ready for finish work. . . . sanding and some polycrylic.

Polycrylic is on and drying.


I painted the outside edge of the lower poplar boards black.

Top all done.



Painting the lower boards allows a nice dark trim under the top. I think it matches the drawer trim.

Did a side job for a guy at work. The bolt broke off in the damper for his fireplace.


I wanted to try drilling with a left hand drill to see if it would break loose...after some heat, PB Blaster, Kroil and wax.

Needed to grab some drill bits....always up to buy a new tool.



They cut nice for a cheap set.

Cutting right through the bolt with some oil and slow speed.


I tried my smallest EZ Out....ahhh nope. So out came the next bit and one more larger bit to enlarge the hole. Once I got the next larger EZ Out in it, it started to come out, in pieces.


Once it was all out, I ran a tap through it and put a bolt in it. It was a loose fit and I added nut for him to use. I gave him a Grade 2 bolt as I was afraid if it happened again, Grade 5 or 8 would be too hard, same for the stainless too.

I got lucky as far as I'm concerned. The next two larger bits did go slightly off center but what was left of the bolt came out. Project was a success and returned to the owner.

Did some sorting and initial placement of stuff from the old bench to the new end cabinet. I still have a few things to organize yet.

The last picture is the larger stuff yet to place. I have a cabinet that was for the utility remodel that wasn't used. I have considered hanging that for this stuff. I also need to go through a ton of owner manuals which could fit on a cabinet shelf.

Hung the above cabinet this evening. This was a leftover from another project so it was already stained.




Once hung up, I cut a couple pieces of luan and stained them close enough.

Also made a couple of spacers for work. 1/2" and 3/4" to see which one works better.

So, the spacers. We have a Little Giant ladder that lives on a slide out panel. It rides on a bracket originally designed for a stair chair.


The issue with doing that is that the ladder is taller than the stair chair. Which causes the ladder to drag when the panel is slid back in.

Not wanting to move the bracket, it was easier to add the plywood spacer to the bracket.



Simple project to make life easier at the fire dept.

Picked up my auction wins yesterday. This was for a local guy that passed away, car guy, welder/fabricator and Ford drag racer.

Wasn't sure of the brands but saw the carbide bit and burr, felt it was worth the gamble. $46.


Signs $14....wanted these for a specific reason. The levels were in a different lot, $14.

Misc oil pumps and pick ups. $1...I was eyeballing the Ford Motorsports oil pump driveshaft in the lot.



For $2, I bought this lot of used aluminum rods and 460 pistons. I figured for the cost I could get hurt.


Then I zoomed on the picture to figure out this was a metric set. 32 dollars in for it, should work for me.

As I was scrolling through the lots online, I saw one titled plumbing, so I clicked on it and placed a few bids. At a $12 winning bid, I know I did NOT get hurt with this one.

There was 3 lots that I was not letting go. I missed out on a similar lot when I
bought the 48" Jet brake.

TIG wire, steel & Aluminum of various sizes.



I'm happy with the $85 3 lot total...some open, some new sealed boxes.

Pegboard E, and repackage the open ones even if its a common bag. that way the stuff doesn't get beaten up in a box plus you can see exactly what you have. If you have the drawer space that's excellent.

All the AN fittings sorted out and in 2 cases. The 3rd case was bought as an extra.
