Blue Points ignition wrenches. Three types. The first two have a three digit model number, would date 27-29. the top one has a different offset and is probably the oldest.
the bottom one is the Ixxx series, probably 30. I need a I3632 to finish these sets.

Some years back, I bought a complete roll cab set from the estate of R.B. (Mac) MacDonald, a mine maintenance guy who had been still using 1940s Blue Point combination wrenches from 1/4" to 1-1/4". A couple, 1/2" and 9/16", natch, had been replaced by Snap-on, and there were a few sizes missing. Unable to easily find an exact match for the late Blue Point, I bought a 1930s production 1".

They're now my basement set, where there is seldom a need for larger sizes for anything other than plumbing.

Up until I broke this one trying to remove a soil stack cleanout plug, I'd have said the old stuff was as strong as the new stuff. However, in fifty years, I've never broken a Snap-on combo in this manner.

The break is perfectly smooth, with no sign of previous cracking.

Some Blue Points long tappet wrenches.
S9864 and S9865 not in the cats.
TSE20 shows TSE1220 in the cats
LT16, LT18, LT20
the top three are a bit thinner than the LT series

S9819 this is odd, shows up in the 37 cat. for use in a 37 Buick
X20 not in the cats as a Points. it is odd. The boxockets were Blue Point has the same model number, but this has a handle.
these are the only box end wrenches with the Points name that I know of.

Some Blue Points specials. Many no in the cats. Most of these are Brake wrenches, the large s9872 is a Buick headlight wrench. Seems odd that a great many of the Specials were for Buick.

Blue Points six inch steel rulers. Shown in the 29 cat. there was one for each branch, so would probably be about 24 different ones. You would think that these would be giveaways but they were .30 cents each, or .40 cents if you wanted the case too.
I know that I will never find them all, quite hard to find.

One of my neighbors has some tools which belonged to his father and grandfather. I remember seeing a Blue Point there. We recently went through his wrenches and I found the following:
Blue Point double box which has 1963 reverse E stamp on the back and a Blue Point Supreme w/o any date. I will try to repeat the pictures once he cleans them.

Here's a couple of unusual Blue Point wrenches. The smaller one with all the twists is interesting to me in that it doesn't seem to have any of the usual giveaways that it was shop bent, it's just way too professionally done, there are no heat marks visible and it appears to be cad plated. I found it in a large tool box filled with aviation tools (PWA, etc) and hardware that I bought at an auction in Sedalia Missouri.

In a response to a question the smaller wrench is marked XD 1618. The date code looks more like the "9" from "39" than anything else it's but hard to tell, you know, 6, 9, G.....:dunno:

here's 4 more...
1. The little single end box looks like a shop mod but i have another one just like it .
2. The (-29) S-7558 looks to be a standard X22 with a slight factory mod.
3. 1932 9562A Chevy wrench.
4. 1930/31 S-8267 Oakland "8" tappet 13/32 X 1/2 ( the hole is factory, there's supposed to be a engine recovery chain attached)

Might be for Palnuts to lock plain nuts in a hard to reach place, like some cylinder base nuts. The low profile box ends are the tip-off for this.

"pinterest"?...Bro, check the "Collecting Snap-on.com." web site, they have massive catalog coverage and a search function. You might have to mess with your search terms, for example 9095-a might have to be entered as 9095a before you get a hit.

. I am not too tech savvy with pictures . I do not have the original pouch. It was in bad shape in the early 70's and I knew my father needed one so I met up with the Snap-On man and bought him a red Snap-On one in the early 70's that they live in. The old red pouch is just as important to me as the wrenches.
