Lean-to carport next to steep hill

Thank you in advance for the advice. We now have more cars in use than we have garage capacity for which creates a problem when we get a plowable snowstorm here in NH. Our best idea to solve this economically is to build a lean-to carport next to our existing garage. However, we have only about...

    7 1/2" hole saw

This feels like a stupid question but I can't find a hole saw in the appropriate size. I need to make a 7 1/2" hole in my house for an ERV vent (see the instructions) and can find no source for a hole saw of the appropriate size. Where can I source an appropriate hole saw - hopefully not crazy...

fuel oil stabilizer or burn it?

We've shifted from primarily oil for heating to a pellet boiler with the oil as an emergency backup. That means I'm not using any fuel oil/diesel and it's sitting in the tank for a long time. I'm trying to decide if it's better to add stabilizers, if so, which ones or to spend a few weeks every...

Racedeck freeflow hold rhino ramp in place

On the rare occasion I use my rhino ramps, they tend to be a pain to use on top of the racedeck freeflow tile as the ramps slide to easily and scoot away when trying to drive up. Has anyone come up with a creative solution to holding ramps, chocks or the like in place on top of freeflow tile?

    Pellet boiler

I'm seriously considering installing a pellet boiler to provide heat & (indirect) hot water and reduce our reliance on heating oil. Trying to do my research, I see some threads that are nearly a decade old and it seems that the residential units have substantially changed in that time. The...

How to cut a hole in subfloor with 5" of access?

I'm struggling to cut a hole in the subfloor under my kitchen cabinetry. I need to run a new large circuit and there is only 5" of height to get a tool into and cut the subfloor. I need a hole big enough to get an inspection camera endoscope into and, if I can find a path to run the wire...

Leg protection for electric (battery) chainsaw

I've recently added the milwaukee M18 chainsaw and am ensuring I have the correct PPE in preparation for fall. Leg protection (chaps) is obviously critical with a chainsaw but, I'm having trouble finding anything that is rated for an electrically driven chainsaw. All of the chaps I've found...

Gerber Suspension muti-tool and E.A.B. Lite $14.98 Target B&M YMMV

This is my first post on GJ hot deals, I hope I've gotten the etiquette down correctly after lurking for a while. I found this on clearance for 50% off at my local target. Brickseek shows many stores in my area (NH) with similar pricing and stock. Regular price was $29.99 so 50% is $14.98...
