Does your garage door fill the opening, or do you see the vinyl trim on the sides?

I mentioned in another post that I had new garage doors installed. It seems trivial, but the doors are like 3/4" narrower than the opening, so I'm seeing the vinyl trim (applied from the outside) from inside the garage. Meaning - the only thing insulating my garage along the sides of the doors...

Real basic Q about garage door applied faux trim

I had new doors installed and they put on those fake hinges and handles and all that to make it look nice. But the side hinge pieces are going UNDER the vinyl weather stripping trim and deforming it (and on one side it actually rubbed so much it popped the weather strip off!) Is it normal to...

Door Jamb (side and top framing) is bare wood, how to refinish?

I'm in Denver and moved into an 8 year old foreclosed house (that was vacant for 5 of the years!) with wood garage doors. The problem is, I don't think the builder ever sealed the wood or the jambs (the side and top of the door as you look from outside). So the door itself is warped the heck...

MyQ opener question difference between top two opener models?

I've decided I need to replace my 'builder' chain drive openers with new units, something quiet (kid's room is right above garage!) and I have Z-Wave in my home so I want to get something where I can monitor if the door is left open. Chamberlain has two top models - HD930EV and HD950WF, and...

How much Shark Grip (Rhino Grip) to add to top coat??

I'm having another clear top coat added to my floor to provide non-slip traction, mixing in Rhino Grip (Shark Grip). I can't figure out how much I should add. The mfr says you can do anywhere from 3.2 oz to 8 oz per gallon, and 30 or 60 grit. My goal is a safe surface that won't be slippery...

Looking for floor coating installer in Denver area

I desperately need to add some non-slip to my existing garage floor coating. I've decided to go with a light sanding (60-80 grit), wipe it with MEK or similar cleaner, and put a thin polyaspartic clear top coat with Sharkgrip mixed in with a power mixer. Now I need to find a good coating...

Do you fill cracks in the control joints before sealing/coating floor?

As detailed in another thread, I had my floor coated with a polyurea/polyaspartic coating. The company advertised how important it was to fill every crack before starting with a flexible material. They also offer caulking in the control joints completely to create a smooth floor. I heard and...

Water pooling and floor slippery after having it coated :(

So we chose a company to coat the garage floor (polyaspartic/polyurea) and now it's an ice rink when the snow melts off the car, or your shoes are slightly damp, or whatever. Their website said that they level the concrete prior to coating so that water doesn't pool, but it's pooling like crazy...

Just had polyurea floor installed, some q!

Based on my lurking around the site, I chose a polyaspartic floor coating for my residential garage and they came out this morning. I'm not thrilled initially because the jerk who showed up had an attitude, demanded to hook into my electrical panel for their 220 line which meant running a...
