    I like #2 aluminum if you can fit them in the pipe. probably cheaper than #4 copper and you will have great power for compressor start ups/ welders.

    Code says you cant use a neutral for a control and you want to keep it separate from the neutral coming back from the garage so if you are working on the feed neutral with the power off, you dont get a shock from the 3 way cct. because it is still on and using that neutral.

    If this is a sub panel off the main then that bond jumper from neutral bar to ground must be removed or the ground and neutral will share the current back to the main panel. thats a nice panel. expensive breakers but great quality.

    I think lutron sells a system that can do a three way with 2 wires. a neutral and a power with data to control switching. I believe it is maestro like said previously but is all built in to the switches.

    they are putting the new ones on plugs to stop this problem, when people buy a new dishwasher they can just plug the new one in. romex is fine in there, it is not a storage area so mechanical protection is not required. you can install a receptacle and plug it in. must be on own circuit...
